3x AVM Fritz!Card PCI for a EuroISDN PBX.
...there! I'm currently considering various PBX solutions for our office telephone network, and would very much like to use Asterisk. Currently, my research is incomplete. I have been recommended to use the above cards, but it is unclear from my Googling whether my configuration will work: - 3x Fritz!Card PCI's in one host. - 3x 6 b-channels. - ~20 Budgetone (and some others) handsets. Can anyone answer these questions: - Will the 3 ISDN cards function correctly in one host? - Will running all 3 cards flat out require particularly beefy hardware? - Will the Gr...

Why is vp31 codec 2x - 3x slower than DivX codec ?
I have a simple test program which encodes, decodes and displays a single video stream ( at 2-3 fps ). It takes about 15% of CPU time when it uses DivX codec, but 35% when the VP31 codec is active. Is there any way to speed encoding/decoding with VP31 ? Or maybe VP31 is just much slower than DivX ? Kamil <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

upgrade samba (3.0.33) to samba-3x (3.6.6) on Centos5
Hi Related to my previous posting on joining win7 to a domain with samba-3.6.6 (which I finally managed to do!) With Centos5 one has the option of installing either Samba which is 3.0.33 or Samba3x which is 3.6.6 with the latest updates to centos5.9 My own server was set up with samba3x and hence was able to attempt connection of win7 PC I have several customers with older installations using samba3.0.33. Last year I tried updating one of them and it appeared the only way was to remove samba...

Z-Raid performance with Random reads/writes
Given a 1.6TB ZFS Z-Raid consisting 6 disks: And a system that does an extreme amount of small /(<20K) /random reads /(more than twice as many reads as writes) / 1) What performance gains, if any does Z-Raid offer over other RAID or Large filesystem configurations? 2) What is any hindrance is Z-Raid to this configuration, given the complete randomness and size of these accesses? Would

Centos samba-3x / samba-3.6.6 - win7 will not join domain
...3.6.6 for win7 Since getting my win7 ultimate pc, I've only used my centos server with samba for a workgroup connection. Previously I had an XP client on this domain. I've updated today (17 feb 2013) to the latest centos5.9 (Linux 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5.centos.plus on i686) which includes samba3x with samba-3.6.600.129_el5 passdb backend has to be tdbsam now for win7, not smbpasswd I've tried repeatedly to join the domain without success. My win7 ultimate machine supposedly has the ability to join a domain Provided I ensure that nmbd as well as smbd is running, it gives the username and...

6 disk raidz2 or 3 stripe 2 way mirror
I''m playing around with ZFS and want to figure out the best use of my 6x 300GB SATA drives. The purpose of the drives is to store all of my data at home (video, photos, music, etc). I''m debating between: 6x 300GB disks in a single raidz2 pool --or-- 2x (3x 300GB disks in a pool) mirrored I''ve read up a lot on ZFS, but I can''t really figure out which is ideal. I know that both ways will work but it seems like the 3 disk strip in a 2 way mirror is the most flexible as far as adding drives. Any help is appreciated. Running Solaris 1...

samba 3 performance with windows 7 workstations
...10 server running Samba 3. (Samba version 3.0.33-3.40.el5_10) The machine is about three years old. I suggested that they should consider replacing it with a Centos 6 machine and Samba 4, but they decided as it was doing its job without any issues to keep it as is. I also suggested updating to samba3x but they decided not to do this. I recently installed a centos 6/samba4 server for another customer but they do not use Sage so I cannot compare performance. That customer has a mix of XP, win7, and win8 but nobody is complaining of performance differences. At home I also have Centos 5.10 with samb...

[PATCH] display: allow up to 16k width/height for fermi+
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- mrnuke on IRC reported that 3x 4K monitors (11520 width total) got rejected for some reason. I'm guessing it's this since a single giant FB has to be used. Not sure if the hardware will actually support it, but... who knows. drm/nouveau/nouveau_display.c | 6 +++++- 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff...

Zaptel answering the Line
I have a TDM400 card with 3x FXO and 1x FXS ports on it. At the moment I'd prefer (till I can get it working more reliable with iaxmodem), for a faxmodem to answer one of the lines instead of the linecard. I've tried changing the context of that line so that the exten => s does nothing, but that stops the line fro...

[LLVMdev] LLVM-GCC generating too much code from inline assembly
..., using constraints and clobbers on each of them. And now that it's all working again, I'm finding performance took a big hit since I went to using LLVM-GCC in debug. Are there any other surprises like the one I found on asm blocks that are disseminated all around, making my app be 3x times slower in debug ?
