Local node indexes in a cluster backend with GFS2
Hi, all
this days I'm testing a dovecot setup using lvs, director and a cluster
email backend with two nodes using rhel5 and gfs2. In the two nodes of the
email backend I configured mail location this way:
mail_location =
sdbox:/var/vmail/%d/%3n/%n/sdbox:INDEX=/var/indexes/%d/%3n/%n
/var/vmail is shared clustered filesystem with GFS2 shared by node1 and
node2
/var/indexes is a local filesystem at the node, so each node has his own
/var/indexes stuff on ext3 and raid1 for improving performance, I mean each
node a different /var/indexes of...

Help : generating correlation matrix with a particular structure
Hi,
I would like to generate a correlation matrix with a
particular structure. For example, a 3n x 3n matrix :
A_(nxn) aI_(nxn) bI_(nxn)
aI_(nxn) A_(nxn) cI_(nxn)
aI_(nxn) cI_(nxn) A_(nxn)
where
- A_(nxn) is a *specified* symmetric, positive
definite nxn matrix.
- I_(nxn) is an identity matrix of order n
- a, b, c are (any) real numbers
Many attempts have been unsuccessful because a...

help with vector construction
Hi all,
I want to make a vector with the third column of a matrix, but only for the
2+3n rows of the matrix, with n being an entire number from 0 to a million.
How can I do that in an easy way?
Thanks in advance,

mmap in GFS2 on rhel 6.1
...tem to store users indexes
- Mailbox data on a GFS2 filesystem
The specific configs for NFS or cluster filesystem we used:
mmap_disable = yes
mail_fsync = always
mail_nfs_storage = yes
mail_nfs_index = yes
fsync_disable=no
lock_method = fcntl
mail location :
mail_location =
mdbox:/var/vmail/%d/%3n/%n/mdbox:INDEX=/var/indexes/%d/%3n/%n
But this seems not to work for GFS2 even doing user node persistence,
maillog is plagged of errors and GFS2 hangs on stress testing with imaptest,
many corrupted index for example, transaction logs etc, at this point we
have many questions, first mmap...

openssh-3.7.1p2 on HP-UX 10.20
Hello,
I have dowloaded all that is required to build a working OpenSSH on HP-UX
10.20 from the HP-UX Porting and Archibve centre (this seems to be the only
way to go for 10.20). Make/install of all prerequisites has scucceeded. Now
make of openssh-3.7.1p2 gives the following:
gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wno-uninitialized -I. -I.. -I. -I./..
-I/usr/local/openssl-0.9.7b/include

mdct explanation
...Suppose we want to calculate a MDCT (encode side):
(x_ is input (time) samples, w_ is window, b_ is output (freq) samples):
b_k = \sum_{j=0}^{4N-1} x_j w_j \cos{(2k+1)(2j+1-2N) \over 8N} \pi
After setting
a_j := w_{-j-1+N} x{-j-1+N} + w_{j+N} x{j+N}, j < N
a_j := w_{j-1-N} x{j-1-N} - w_{j+3N} x{j+3N}, otherwise
(or something similar; the cos'es should agree)
we get
b_k = \sum_{j=0}^{2N-1} a_j \cos{(2k+1)(2j+1) \over 8N} \pi
This is a DCT-IV.
For decode side, we first compute DCT-IV, and then "wrap it out"
to length 4N, with window.
We'll compute
c_k := 2 \cos...

What does file.info('X1.RData') say?
Do you get any output if you run print(readBin('X1.RData', raw(), 128))?
If this is happening on a Linux or macOS machine, the operating system
command xxd -l 128 X1.RData will give the same output in a more
readable manner,

many users maildir access
Hi All,
Is it possible when using Dovecot and MySQL to tell dovecot
maildir:%h/MailDir -- Yes I know but please read on before you answer this
one :->
We have users directories layer structured because of the filesystems 32k
directory limit ,
eg: user foobar at example.com's home mail directory is:
/mailhosts/example.com/f/fo/foo/foobar
I know Dovecot takes maildir:%d/%u/MailDir but

Trouble with finding a network printer...help please...:(((
...uck at it, and I need access to the printer for my work...:/
The situation:
When first installing CentOS, I manually installed a networked printer,
and that worked fine. AFAIR I installed it using the IP address, and the
generic Postscript driver. The printer in question is a Xante
Accelawriter 3N.
The issue:
After one of the latest automatic kernel updates, for some reason the
printer was not found anymore. I've been trying to get it set up
afterwards, and so far I've not succeeded. :(((
I do not remember anymore how I did it exactly previously, but it seems

Using predict with glmmPQL
I am wondering if anyone knows how to use predict with a glmmPQL model,
where you want to predict the response for one factor in the model?
Originally I used predict on a GLM (gamma, log link) in the following
way:
p.1<-predict(model1,data.frame(year=as.factor(xv),nafdiv=as.factor(rep("
3N",length(xv))), duration=1000, cfv=as.factor(rep(106166,length(xv))),
hooks=rep(1,length(xv))),type="response",se.fit=T)
where model1 standardises catch rate and includes nafo area, year,
duration of fishing sets, and vessel (cfv) as explanatory variables with
an offset of hooks.
