3Com Phones
Greetings,
We are looking at installing a VoIP system with Asterisk and are
currently looking at the line of 3Com phones. Has anybody had
success with using the following phones? We need to buy a lot and we
don't want to end up with phones that don't work properly with asterisk.
3Com 3101 (model with speakerphone)
3Com 3102 Business Phone
3Com 3103 Manager Phone
3Com 3105 Attendant Console (if t...

3com 3c509
I have used 3Com 3c509 nic width bnc coax. I have experienced that these
cards used width FreeBSD and Samba is unusable due to speed. I tried to
change the 3com card with a NE2000 compatible card, and there was a major
change in speed. Has anyone else experienced such problem.

3Com PXE server
I posted this to the group last year, but the problem was not fixed so I
will give it another try.
I use 3Com's PXE server to deploy the Fedora Core boot disk to my clients
for an ftp install. I also have ghost boot disks, bios update disks, and a
video bios repair disk all using the 3Com PXE server. The problem is when I
try to boot a Linux kernel. With all versions of syslinux since 1.72
syslinux...

3com officeconnect 10/100 NIC not detected
I've plugged in two 3com OfficeConnect 10/100 3CSOHO100B-TX in my
freebsd 4.8 box and they are not detected. Do I have to enable some
support in the kernel ?

3COM 3101 SIP
I have been (un?)lucky enough to be given a 3COM 3101 phone as a demo to play with and see if I can get it to work with ASTERISK. Supposedly it is SIP, but there is absolutely no documentation with the phone and it doesn't seem to have very many programmable options. 3COM doesn't seem to have any information on their knowledge base abou...

3com mba 4.30 problem
Hello All,
I seem to be having a problem with PXE under the 3com MBA
once the pxe loads the standard redhat 7.2 lilo prompt and
I type my label which is a4-72 and hit enter, I get:
Loading vmlinuz...
and it stops most of the time. Sometimes it loads and once it gets to
the part of installing linux the screen turns red and I
get "interrupt handler not sync...

PXELinux, chain.c32 and my 3com NIC
...sk): There is a working menu item for hard disk boot (chain.c32 hd0).
I have deleted the partition table and installed W2k (NTFS): now hard
disk boot no longer works if I use PXELinux. :-(
First I thought that there is something wrong with chain.c32 but I doubt
that because:
- if I replace the 3com NIC with one by Intel (latest IBA), hard disk
boot works
- booting syslinux from floppy with a menu and an item for hard disk
boot works (with the same 3com MBA 4.30 NIC)
So I have replaced my 3com NIC with another 3com NIC to make sure that
this specific NIC is not causing the problem. But it...

syslinux booting problem with 3Com PXE server
I use 3Com's PXE server to deploy the RedHat Linux network boot disk for
an ftp install. I have done this for RedHat 7.2 and 7.3. I followed
the same procedure I used for the other RedHat boot disks using the
RedHat 8.0 boot disk and syslinux didn't work. Syslinux boots the
system, gets the boot: p...

3COM NBX SuperStack 3
Hi,
I've looked pretty wide on Google for this so I don't think it's been
asked before. Has anyone had experience integrating Asterisk with a 3COM
NBX system? The only way that I can see that looks possible is via the
3Com NBX ConneXtions H.323 product and then one of the H.323 Asterisk
channels.
Has anyone done this? Any pointers as to what to avoid or whether to
even attempt it?
I would much prefer a SIP solution to the NBX but this does...

memdisk issues with 3com cards
...arious functions. Soem of the
disk images are used for flashing the BIOS on pcs, but a specific few are set
aside for booting MSDOS with MS lanman so that ghost can be run to load images
to/from the lan. I've got 6 different disk images setup and the all work great
except for the ones for the 3Com 90x cards.
IF i use the disk image in hte floppy, works great, no issues, if I feed that
image thru pxelinns/memdisk, when the image begins to boot it creates a
ramdrive which it uncompresses data into to startup the LAN, I get the old DOS
"Abort Retry ignore" error when attempting to...

3Com 3102 Phones
Has any advancement been made to get 3102 operational in either a SIP or
H323 asterisk environment.
A post back in time mentioned a downloader service.
>From the posts and articles I have read, the NCP is acting like a bootp
and tftp server which uploads the configuration to the phone??
Am I close? if so, where does one get the SIP image for he 3102 and
2102 phones?

Chaining from PXELinux to some other boot loader
Hi
I am using PXELinux to boot BartPE and some other application and it works fine. There are some other Boot application which I am using 3COM MBAUTIL PXE.mnu and floppy images. I have problem chaining from pxelinux.0 to 3com pxe.0 (pxe.mnu).
Consider:
BIOS->(DHCP-TFTP)->pxelinux.0 works fine.
BIOS->(DHCP-TFTP)->3COM pxe.mnu works fine, the menu appears and I can choose a floppy image.
BIOS->(DHCP-TFTP)->pxelinix.0->...

FreeBSD-9.1 would not boot on pentium3 laptop
Hello!
I have an old Dell Latitude C800 laptop (with Pentium3 CPU in it).
FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE was running fine on it, but I decided to update the
machine to 9.1-STABLE.
Well, neither my own custom kernel, nor even the official 9.1-RELEASE
CD1 would boot... In both cases the boot process runs up to detecting
uhub0, then either hangs forever or shuts off after a short while.
Again, I thought I

OT: cisco 7960G powered by 3com 3CNJPSE
Is anyone using a 3com 3CNJPSE to power a 7960G?
I have a couple of 7960Gs and 3CNJPSEs but no combination appears to
work. Both phones work fine with a cisco power cube. I get a 47.6V
reading across pins 5 and 8 on the patch cable coming from the 3CNJPSE.
The network still works through the 3CNJPSE, just no power to...

3com Ethernet Power Supply
Hello,
I am trying to set up some Cisco 7940G phones with the
3com POE injectors. I have the 3CNJPSE24 power injector,
this is the rackmountable 24 port injector. My question is
does anyone know how to serial console into these things?
I have tried just about every cable setup I can think of and
baud rates but I can't seem to get anything out of it. I want...

3Com 3c940 moel only giving me 100 mb throughput to network switch
Hello all,
As the subject states, I have a 3Com 3c940 Ethernet card to a 1 gb network
switch. The switch detects it, but it only shows that it is giving me 100
mb/sec throughput. That card is rated for 1 GB...is there a way to force
it to try to use 1 GB/sec? System-config-network isn't helping me here.
Thanks for any help!
