Newbie config help? Wellgate 3701a
Hi again,
Kind of sheepish about asking for help, as I have only spent a day
banging my head off this...
I got my new Welltech 3701a, 1FXS,1FXO gateway.
I flashed it with what is seemingly the appropriate firmware (SIP
V1.04). This seems to have gone ok, and it is now registering both
ports ok with asterisk. For 1 minute I thought I was home free and and
everything was just going to work like magic. Wrong.
Problem #1) Wi...

Dumb question (hang up detection/Zapata.conf)
...ng a LOT of voicemails with dialtone or silence.
I see over at asteriskguru.com there is an explanation of how to
configure for polarity reversal in zapata.conf?
Does zapata.conf have any function in systems that aren't using zaptel(
I suppose not)?
I am using an external gateway (wellgate 3701a) and don't have zaptel
at all.
If I am not using zapata.conf (this is my guess) then is there some
other way to configure this type of option for my FXO, or is this
reliant on the devices setup?
Thanks,
marty

Welltech USA? and Wellgate Products?
Any feedback on this brand and in particular on doing business with
WelltechUSA?
I am looking to the Wellgate 3701A which is a 1FXS-1FXO arrangement. I
am hoping to replace the near worthless Grandstream HT-488.
This company is telling me that I need to wire $ directly into there
bank account. Most unusual.
Thanks for any feedback on this,
Marty

Linksys WIP300 WiFi Phone
Whoo hoo! I just received my WIP300 from voipsupply. I have to let it
charge before I can play with it.
A few quick comments:
- I started a Wiki page at voip-info to post issues, firmware news, etc.
I really like the wealth of info on the GXP-2000 page, so I wanted to
start something similar for this phone.

RFC 2833 and SIP? DTMF? What am I not getting?
Hi again,
I am trying to get my DTMF to use RFC 2833 rather then inband, so that
I can utilize lower bandwidth codecs through my FXO.
After much tinkering I was able to get my gateway (wellgate 3701A)
configured to a point where I have some success, but no real joy.
I have configured the RTP Payload type (or RFC2833 Payload type) to
101. I don't have a clue what this means, but I took the 101 from my
AG168V ATA's configuration screen, as I know that device seemed to work
fine th...

Recommendation for FXO
...during the storm there where
multiple brown out/black outs.
I have struggled since day one to get a high quality PSTN gateway
configured with my very long loop and Mac based asterisk.
I originally tried the HT-488, which had multiple issues, and was
unacceptable. I then purchased the wellgate 3701a, which was much
better, but lacked ANY support from the manufacturer, and had some
other semi-minor problems (rfc2833 didn't work, never got caller id
working, etc.).
Now the power problems seems to have done something bad to the PSTN
gateway, as it appears to be up and running, but the g...

Flash hook -> SIP device
Hi there
I have a Welltech Wellgate SIP device and I want to be able to do a supervised transfer. I've read that in order to do that I have to use flash hook. The problem is just that I can't flash hook with this device.
I'm in contact with the developer of the SIP device but don't know what to tell him in order to get him to fix this.
What is happening when you flash hook, I

anyone using these? they look very interesting in that they support ilbc,
and they offer a separate cheaper model without g729 license.
i'm wondering if their EC is better than the spa3000, and what the echo
tail length is.

Call Waiting? Should this just work?
...there is a second dial tone, and I can initiate a second
call.
If I am dialed out through the FXO and another call comes in I hear the
call waiting beep, when I flash over I hear another dialtone rather
then the incoming call.
With the HT-488 this feature seemed to work. With my new Wellgate
3701a I don't know what to do to make it go?
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions welcomed.

(no subject)
Hi all, the lists seems to be littered with disconnect problems using
various equipment (TDM 400,Linksys etc etc.)
My question is very simple and could make for good solution to Asterisk
users.
Since * can detect various tones according to different country standards
would it be possible to disconnect on the 'off-hook' warning tone?
This tone is:
1400 Hz, 2060 Hz, 2450 Hz, and 2600 Hz, at

PBX-VPN-SIP-Asterisk trouble
Hi all!
I have the following setup:
Phone lines -> traditional PBX -> Welltech 3802
-> VPN ->
Asterisk -> Linksys PAP2/Welltech ATA-151 -> phone
There is 2 pieces of Welltech 3802 (2 port FXO) connected to 4 (2x2)
PBX extensions. Asterisk is a proxy here. Each device successfully
register itself. I tried the setup above with Linksys and Welltech
devices as well.

An FXO version of IAXy?
Hello--
In the interest of Symmetry, does anyone else in the world see any need
for a device like the IAXy (or the SIP ones from other manufacturers,
like the ATA186), but one that presents an FXO interface instead, so it
can be connected not to phones, but the PSTN?
