problems with write.table, involving loops & paste statement
Hi!
I want to write portions of my data (3573 columns at a time) to twenty
folders I have available titled "A_1" to "A_20" such that the first 3573
columns will go to folder A_1, next 3573 to folder A_2 and so on.
This code below ensures that the data is written into all 20 folders, but
only the last iteration of the loop...

[Bug 44] Can't pass KRB4 TGT on RH7.2 due to glibc mkstemp
...------- Additional Comments From jan.iven at cern.ch 2002-07-05 01:11 -------
Update: I have reported this to the glibc people, who say that they will not
modify their mkstemp().
Attached is a patch to configure{ac,in} to detect this and force using the

Valet Parking and SuperValet Parking - back level
It seems Valet Parking and Super Valet Parking won't compile with CVS after 3/4/2005. Apparently some major reworks to Asterisk has broken the out-of-tree modules. Ref: http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=3573
The standard Parking lacks functionality and doesn't support contexts. Yet the more current CVS supports several much needed features like Chan Spy and native MOH as well as numerous bug fixes compared to 1.0.7.
As these out-of-tree modules don't qualify for Bug Tracker, I thought it appr...

Disabling TLS 1.1 in Centos 7 cockpit
Hi, I'm using cockpit in standard port 9090 in a Centos 7 system.
Due to a suggestion from management, they want TLS 1.1 disabled
system-wide in all Linux boxes and TLS 1.2 enabled.
I have not found proper documentation on how to disable it for cockpit
(version 195.1 ships with Centos 7)
So far I have tried (https://cockpit-project.org/guide/149/https.html):

Change class factor to numeric
I am attempting to develop a multiple regression model using selected
model variables that should all be treated as numeric (mostly real)
values.
However, R considers one specific variable "mass" automatically to be of
class "factor", probably because "mass" consists of integer values that
are repeated.
I now want to force R to treat "mass" as a numeric

Applying a function to a vector
I have defined a function to compute the value of a
beta distribution of the second kind (the existing
beta distribution of th stats package is the beta
distribution of the first kind). It works perfectly
for a single value, but I want to apply it to a vector
of 22 000 values. I can use a loop for the calculation
of each value but it runs very very slowly.
So, what can I change ?

Fatal Samba bug? Why can't anyone answer this question?
...Hi, I have four computers on a home network:
A) A 2004-era debian machine
B) A 2005-era debian machine
C) A 2007 xandros machine
D) A 2007 kubuntu machine
The problem: Machines B and C allow users to mount samba shares, but
machines A and D don't. I get:
smbmount //spk/homes ~/mnt
Password:
3573: tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password -
name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.)
SMB connection failed
I have gone crazy trying to fix this problem, but it doesn't seem to
depend at all on what is in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file. I even copied
