video codec
Hi Lourens,
I fixed the YUV conversion and added a 'skip-empty-bitplanes' feature.
The latter is still buggy, I have to check this again. But images look
mach better now, even if you use higher compression ratios.
(try ./main 1500 150 150 for a 352x288 image -- the output becomes
blurred, but how does it looks when you compress it using jpeg down to
about 2kB ...).

I am only able to get streamable videos at 19.5KB/s (156kb/s) due the transcoding and streaming from the mythtv setup over 900Km away
the videos on the mythtv setup are 352x288 interlaced at 25fps at 524KB/s and the audio is 48000 stereo at 128KB/s
What are the best setting for 19.5KB/s (156kb/s) theroa video stream?

Create CD from avi files
I have avi files in xVid format from my Camera, and I want to create a
Video CD that can be viewed on any CD player.
I have searched through the various repos (including rpmforage and
kbsingh) and did not find anything that would burn.
I have a number of programs that have no trouble displaying these
files. Including xzine, Avidemux, and VideoLAN-Client).
I unfortunately have to make these

I've kind of got my theora(alpha 3) directshow filter playing... besides the fact it's upside down and has major defects all over it :)
I can't take a screen capture becuase it's an activemovie window and they all show up transparent in screen captures.
But the defect looks something like this... there are horizontal red green and blue lines all through the image... they tend to
