PXELINUX has no such 32 MB limitation (it pretty much implies a bug in
either GRUB or your TFTP server.)

R on Sharp Zaurus 5500?
...rs at familiar.org.
(libf2c was the hardest part). Compilation should be easier now that there
are onboard compilers but I haven't tried.
I thought this would be neat to have in the classroom. (It did get one
student to buy a zaurus) Unfortunately performance was horribly slow
(this was on the 32meg model and memory was tight as I didn't have
stuff stored on my SD card), writing to postscript (how I was going to
view graphics) was buggy (floating point emulation issue?) and the
whole thing prone to crash. I then compiled the oldest R version I
could find: 0.49. This actually ran well, alt...

ibutton
has anybody worked with support for the ibutton? i've come across keymgr
(http://www.rcpt.to/keymgr/), but it seems to be dead (or playing possum). i've
also come across ramblings about integrating ibutton support into openssl, but
i dunno how pertinent that is, or even whether the work still exists.
i just want to get rid of my passwds (or lock them up in a safe), and the
ibutton seems

direct write patch
...is full or nearly full.
Say that I am writing to a device that has 1 Meg free, and a 2 meg file
on that device is out of date.
Rsync will first attempt to write a new temp file, and fail, SIGUSR1'ing
itself, and outputting "Error 20".
Specifically, I am writing a linux root fs to a 32Meg compact flash, and
libc needs to be updated, and rsync fails.
This patch simply sets fnametmp to fname.
Two issues with the patch, that hopefully developers can answer:
- In direct-write mode, I open without O_EXCL, as the file likely does
exist.
Should the destination file be deleted instead?...

Performance Samba 2.0.6 / FreeBSD 3.4 vs NT and NetWare
...x from Win98 and WinNT workstation with "manually setup"
smbpasswd's.
I have been testing performance and am a little disappointed, I hoped samba
would be faster. Here are the servers I'm testing against:
Netware 4.10
386 80 MHz
20Meg RAM
SCSI
IPX/SPX
NT4 Server
Pentium 150 MHz
32Meg RAM
SCSI
NetBEUI (Default) & TCP/IP & IPX/SPX
FreeBSD 3.4 / Samba 2.0.6
486 DX2/66 MHz w/ Evergreen Pentium upgrade (approx 100/133 MHz, at least
faster than it DX2/66 )
64Meg RAM
VLB IDE
TCP/IP
To test I have been copying a directory branch containing subdirectories of
about 74Meg back...

No subject
...r probably all thinking about why not set up all the
users on the NT machines well its because were running Nt from a cd(yes a
cd) and i have about 3800 fellow students ( + it's a big hassle) The other
problem is the hardware for the linux server its at the fastest a pentium
pro 200mhz with 32meg of ram and a 1 gig hard drive. ( personally i have no
desire to migrate or copy all the students from one server to the other)
plus we have over 300 + gig worth of files on the server and downtown
doesn't want us to change the server. So my question to you is ??????????
Can you people mak...
