Part of me wondered if .can_multi_conn be set for all read-only clients,
but without making it mandatory on read-write clients. But I'm fine
with keeping it as something the plugin must do itself.

Problem with read.table and scan
...am using the correct
syntax. The error message I receive is
Error in file(file, "r") : cannot open file [file name]
I have the data in text files in white-space delimited form. I put them in
the rw1031 directory.
