Metadata & Opus Files?
...erested in adding metadata (Such as Track Title/Artist) to my videos that I convert. How can I do this? I've seen the metadata usage and read the ffmpeg documentation, but I'm still uncertain. I'm currently using command similar to: ffmpeg -ss 00:00:24.0 -i 40.mp4 -t 00:01:20.0 -y -b:a 320k 40.opus for conversion to opus files. This gets me the .opus file (At a certain specified time), but I've never seen how to add metadata to it. The solution doesn't necessarily have to be ffmpeg based. I have opusenc installed as well, but as far as I know, it doesn't add opus metadat...

Questions about OPUS 1.2
I would like to ask them Why do they always say that OPUS is a leader in 64k and 96k, but that it is not 128k or 192k? Does OPUS not achieve transparency in 128k and at 160k is it like a 320k MP3 file? Thanks for reading my question, this is referred to the new version of OPUS 1.2. Since I want to know your recommendation for a transparent file at a lower bitrate. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... ...sourced data. Unofficial sources (such as Usenet and that torrent site with the old fashioned sailing ship as its logo) are much more likely to have FLAC files that were made from lossy audio. And I vaguely remember reading about an illegal download site that stored all audio in MP3 (at less than 320k) and transcoded on the fly for all other bitrates and formats, including FLAC and 320k MP3. They did it to save storage space. > However, you should be aware that many modern producers use software > to create their music, and when the software stores sound clips in > MP3 format, what...

new flac user
a new user to flac here...am planning on archiving all my cd collection to an external hdd.have thought of using mp3 at 320k cbr or 192k vbr but have decided to go on flac.I am using EAC with flac as an external compression.there is an option on eac for bit rates.I think the default rate was set to 640kbits/s, with a min of 32kbits and max of 1024kbits/snow, my inquiry is... do I need to change the bit rate to 1024kbits...

IAX2 Channels & Bandwidth
Hi all, I'm using VOIPJET to make international calls with an IAX2 connection between my local asterisk server and their server(s). At times I seem to have a problem if 5 or more international calls are made at once - I'm on a 1024kbps download and 256kbps upload DSL line (only the asterisk server uses this DSL line). Today I switched the codec from ulaw to ilbc in an attempt to lower

Linux router performance
Hi, I wonder about the performance of a Linux box used as router (I guest I''m not the first :). Althought I know it mainly depends on the hardware, I''m trying to find some references on the topic or comparations with other routing solutions (FreeBSD box used as router, Cisco, etc). For example, http://facweb.cti.depaul.edu/jyu/Publications/Yu-Linux-TSM2004.pdf (althought is

Plans for 2.4.0
Hi folks, Has anyone tested the changes to multiple ISPs/load balancing or routestopped in 2.4.0-RC1 yet? We need to talk about what criteria we will use for determining whether 2.4.0 is ready for release. I''ve started configuring a firewall at work with the multiple ISPs support, but its kernel doesn''t have connection marking support, so it''s going to be a couple of

eDP screen corruption using linux 3.8 & xen 4.2
Konrad, et al, I am seeing visual corruption (almost like an interlacing problem) with i915 under Xen on some platforms using linux-3.8. See attached file for an example of the visual corruption. This particular platform is an HP Elitebook 2540p The same kernel and ramdisk, when booted as native linux does not show this corruption. dmesg is attached, as well (out.txt) - but I did not see
