RAID benchmarks

using Linux software raid.
I used bonnie++ to run the benchmarks, and here are the initial results
we got:

I assume that mail running maildir (as we intend to do) is somewhere
between writing one char at a time and writing huge blocks to fill 4g
files. Since the Per Chr values seemed to have maxed out the CPU and

were finding a way wherein we can upload/download files securely. site1 will upload files to my server and also to upload files from my server to theirs. what solution will be good ? which is better a device or some powerful linux software ?

Problem mapping Samba shares in Windows
Hi,
In our company we are currently running a Samba server and Windows XP clients.
At the moment we are having problems with mapping Samba shares in Windows.
Shares are being mapped through a windows startup script, which executes net use (with the option persistent:no) command.
For most users this works most of the time, nevertheless it often fails, the exect reason for this isn't clear
