[PATCH] BUG on error handlings in Ext3 under I/O failure condition
Hello. I found bugs on error handlings in the functions arround the ext3 file system, which cause inadequate completions of synchronous write I/O operations when disk I/O failures occur. Both 2.4 and 2.6 have this problem. I carried out following experiment: 1. Mount a ext3 file system on a SCSI disk with ordered mode. 2. Open a file on the file system with O_SYNC|O_RDWR|O_TRUNC|O_CREAT

[Bridge] libbridge<->sysfs interface - some bugs
Hi, I think I detected some bugs in libbridge 1.2. Probably none detected them so far because of the fallback to ioctl() whenever anything fails. On my system (user 32 bits, kernel 64 bits) the fallback doesn't work. It would be nice BTW to have a compile time option that leaves the ioctl fallback out... Here's what I've found (first patch is a compilation patch I posted last

question on tx_fax install for asterisk 1.4
I downloaded these 4 files: app_rxfax.c app_txfax.c asterisk.patch spandsp-20061130.tar.gz for use with asterisk 1.4 (these are the 1.4 files) I installed spandsp, copied app_rxfax and app_txfax into /asterisk-1.4beta3/apps my question is what do I do with asterisk.patch? I tried to put it in the apps directory also and run "patch < asterisk.patch" and it gave me an error.

[RFC, PATCH 5/24] i386 Vmi code patching
The VMI ROM detection and code patching mechanism is illustrated in setup.c. There ROM is a binary block published by the hypervisor, and and there are certainly implications of this. ROMs certainly have a history of being proprietary, very differently licensed pieces of software, and mostly under non-free licenses. Before jumping to the conclusion that this is a bad thing, let us consider more

[PATCH] missing -lm in drivers/Makefile
Hi all, I couldn't cross-compile NUT for uClibc x86_64 with shared libm, but the problem may show up with any other target as well. ldexp() requires "-lm" and most toolchains are happy without it, but picky ones aren't. This is a trivial patch to keep all linkers happy. Regards, diff -Naubr nut-2.7.2.old/drivers/Makefile.am nut-2.7.2.new/drivers/Makefile.am ---

newhidups with APC Smart-UPS - workaround!
Hi. I had a problem recently with %subj, and I've solved it. Sent a letter with solution to maintainers, but it seems like I've lost it somewhere. May be just simply forgot to write it.. But anyway. I've noticed that I'm not the only one who had it. So I post the workaround. The problem is similar to the one mentioned in letter with alike subject at Oct. 5. When the UPS

RFC: multiple address spaces for one process
In a hosted VMM like LinuxOnLinux or UML, context switch time can be a major problem (as mmap when repeated for each guest page frame takes a long time). One solution is to allow the host kernel to keep a cache of address space contexts, and switch between them in a single operation. The attached patch is a start at this. It works well for LinuxOnLinux; but I'd be interested from the

postscript failure manifests in plot.TukeyHSD
Hello R Developers, Dear R-developers, I ran some standard tests with currently (today morning) compiled R release candidate in Linux R 2.12.1 RC (2010-12-13 r53843). Some of these tests used plot.TukeyHSD function. This worked OK on the screen (X11 device), but PostScript file could not be rendered. The following example had the problem with me: postscript(file="tukeyplot.ps")

fixes for quota support on NetBSD
Hi! dovecot-2.2.13 already has quota support for NetBSD, but it's buggy. The attached patches by Manuel Bouyer <bouyer at NetBSD.org> fix the issues. There is one thing that's not nice in them: one include is now for "/usr/include/quota.h" since dovecot comes with its own file "quota.h" which is earlier in the search path. Perhaps dovecot's copy can be
