Seagate NCQ + Sil3112 (sata_sil)
..., i insert the cd and start the boot up process, when it gets to the section where it detects the hard disks, the driver is seems crashes, the message it produces complains about no one caring about a interrupt on IRQ11. The hard disk is a Seagate 200GB 8MB SATA150 NCQ drive, on a SilliconImage 3112 PCI adapter card. Does anyone have any ideas? Regards, Peter

SIL3114 and sparc solaris 10
Perhaps a bit off-topic (I asked on the rescue list -- http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/OaDWVGdLhxWVWIEabz4F -- and was told to try here), but I am kinda shooting in the dark: I have been finding online scattered and vague info stating that this card can be made to work with a sparc solaris 10 box (http://old.nabble.com/eSATA-or-firewire-in-Solaris-Sparc-system-td27150246.html is the

Screaming Interrupt error and hang.
...after seeing an 'irq 10: nobody cared! (screaming interrupt?)' error. I have done the kernel command line 'pci=biosirq' and 'acpi=off' suggestions, I have disabled USB, disabled everything that the BIOS will allow. Nothing at this point is sharing IRQ 10 with the Sil 3112 controller. I think it is the latest BIOS version for that motherboard. No matter what I do, it issues the screaming interrupt error until I remove the SATA drive. The DRAGON motherboard has HPT372 software RAID on board (I'm using it as just another two channel ATA host adapter) as well...

"dumb" SATA controller recommendation
Just wondering if any 4.2 users out there have a favourite "dumb" PCI controller to add a couple of SATA ports to a motherboard that doesn't include SATA support. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just 2 SATA ports that a recent vintage kernel will recognize without a lot of configuration gymnastics. The intended use is for relatively light weight internet browser

"Structure needs cleaning" error
Hi, We have recently upgraded our gluster to 3.2.5 and have encountered the following error. Gluster seems somehow confused about one of the files it should be serving up, specifically /projects/philex/PE/2010/Oct18/arch07/BalbacFull_250_200_03Mar_3.png If I go to that directory and simply do an ls *.png I get ls: BalbacFull_250_200_03Mar_3.png: Structure needs cleaning (along with a listing

test program #2: mmaping
Attached another test program. I don't expect it to print any errors with any OS, but I'd like to confirm it for non-Linux SMP kernels. (Except for OpenBSD, it doesn't work correctly in it anyway because it doesn't support mixing write()s and mmap()) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Best practice to stop the Gluster CLIENT process?
Hi all! What's the best way to stop the CLIENT process for Gluster? We have dual systems, where the Gluster servers also act as clients, so both, glusterd and glusterfsd are running on the system. Stopping the server app. works via "/etc/init.d/glusterd stop" but the client is stopped how? I need to unmount the filesystem from the server in order to do a fsck on the ext4 volume;

ChannelTimeout setting
...ear_timeouts: clearing debug1: channel 0: new session [client-session] (inactive timeout: 0) Opening a session with no channels using ssh -N user at hostname produces a different result. After 60ish seconds the connection is closed: Connection to localhost closed by remote host. Transferred: sent 3112, received 3520 bytes, in 60.9 seconds This suggests that UnusedConnectionTimeout is working as I expect, but ChannelTimeout is not. Is there other data sent across the channel that stops this from functioning how I expect? Is this how the ChannelTimeout expected to work? David
