~ files not excluded from build (PR#3071)
My docs say files ending in ~ are excluded by default from R CMD build.
Doesn't look that way to me. I got them with 1.6.2 and 1.7.0.
My documenation is 1.6.0 (that is, the one saying *~ is excluded).
I have no .Rbuildignore of my own.

Problem Mappig Groups to shares
...directory have to be 0770 permission o Linux, right?
Here is my situation:
I use samba with LDAP, and everithing is working fine.
With smbldap-tools, I created the group and with <net groupmap list>
I see that it maps rigth to Unix Group:
grupoteste (S-1-5-21-980314579-3254781846-1046201792-3071) -> grupoteste
I putt all the people who should have acces to the share inside the
group, as I can see with smbldap-groupshow grupoteste:

Is this easy to reproduce? Can you try with valgrind? It will slow down the logins a bit though.

Memory use in R
...ndows-speak the "commit charge" is
all the memory allocated by system, drivers, applications etc.).
Machine characteristics
Processor: Pentium-D
4GB of installed memory (Task Manager reports 3584MB = 4GB - 512MB total
memory)
Windows booted with /3GB switch
R started with --max-mem-size=3071M
memory.limit() as reported by R: 3071
My questions are:
1. When it starts, does R ask the system to allocate memory for it in a
single chunk?
2. Can R allocate memory either side of the system-preallocated memory in
the middle of address space?
Best wishes

Breakpoints for multiple variables using Segmented
Hi all,
I am using the package ?Segmented? to estimate logistic regression models
with unknown breakpoints (see Muggeo 2003 Statistics in Medicine
22:3055-3071). In the documentation it suggests that it might be possible to
include several variables with breakpoints in the same model: ?Z = a vector
or a matrix meaning the (continuous) explanatory variable(s) having
segmented relationships with the response?. However, the syntax for
including multiple ?Z?...

Weak DH primes and openssh
...ellman-group1-sha1 (uses a 1024-bit
group) and diffie-hellman-group14-sha1 (uses a 2047-bit group), which
must be considered a bit suspect? Of course RFC4253 says implementations
MUST offer these...
The moduli file you provide has this distribution of sizes:
size count
1023 36
1535 50
2047 36
3071 31
4095 41
6143 27
8191 39
Would it be sensible to remove the <2047 moduli? Generating the larger
ones is quite time-consuming on non-specialist kit, which would seem to
argue against re-generating them on users' machines.

Matthew

array and string
hi all,
I have an array and i would like to convert it into a string format.
e.g.
$server = ["node1", "node2", "node3"]
when I write my puppet codes
exec { "myscript -S $server":
path => XXXX
}
my $server becomes a continual string like: "node1node2node3", instead of
"node1 node2 node3". How can i have a delimiter of space in

Since you already support '2k', '2m' and such as shorthands for the
start, is it worth creating a convenient shorthand for expressing '3M-1'
for an end rather than having to write out 3145727?
