Need GLIBCXX-3.4.9 for /usr/lib64/libstdc++
I am trying to compile an application on a CentOS 5.0 64-bit machine that gives
me the error:
/usr/local/bin/myprog: /usr/lib64/libstdc++: version `GLIBXX.3.4.9' not found
(required by /usr/local/bin/myprog)
I have gcc 4.2.3.
I've performed a yum install compat-* and glibc*
What am I missing?
Thanks.

Trust does not work anymore after upgrade to 3.4.9
Hi,
I did upgrade from samba 3.0.28b to 3.4.9. Now the trust does not work anymore.
When we try to reestablish the trust, we get an error:
ldapmaster:/etc/openldap/schema # net rpc trustdom establish BIO
Enter EVAN$'s password:
Could not connect to server HEINBLOED
Storing password for trusted domain failed.
Google does not really help and logfiles (loglevl 10) do not tell me what is wrong.

Still no working windbind on Solaris9 - samba 3.4.9
Greetings,
Was away from samba for a time, now trying again. I have this working
under Solaris 10, but have not been able to get a functional samba
Active Directort member server working on Solaris 9 since samba 3.2.15.
Later versions Samba will serve file to PC clients, but not permit
interactive logins to the host. I see messages like:
ld.so.1: su: fatal: relocation error: file

re. 3.4.9 printing addprinter command reparse doesn't see new printer
Please don't hijack threads.
You could try something like /etc/init.d/samba restart (or your local
equivalent) to the end of perl script.

hello
I have cups printing with cups 1.4.4. I'm using the included
smbaddprinter.pl command to add printers to my server.
Now, my error is that when I add the printer, I get ACCESS DENIED in the

Issues when updating CentOS 7
Hi all,
I wanted to update my CentOS 7 install this morning and I started
getting the errors from below.
Any ideas on a fix?
They seem to be related to cinnamon which I actually don't use at all
(the machine was prepared by our IT at work and they install both
Gnome and Cinnamon by default).
Since I don't use it, I guess an option would be to remove it
altogether and then I will

samba 3.5.6, winbindd and getent/id
Hi.
I'm using samba to authenticate squid users in Windows AD, and to
provide 'em some statistics on the Internet usage. As this requires the
existence of windows users in Unix environment, I use nsswitch.conf and
nss_winbind.so to map users in Unix environment via samba as domain
member (security = ads) and its winbindd daemon.
As of samba 3.5.6 I'm expiriencing some major

Winbind behaviour odd in 3.4.9 and 3.5.6 vs 3.2.14 (Samba domain with Samba member servers)
Hi,
I have recently upgraded a system with a Samba BDC, PDC and a couple of
member servers from 3.2.14 to 3.4.9 (and also tested with 3.5.6).
There appears to be some problem with Winbind (we need to run it on all
servers as we have a trust relationship to a domain at another office).
I have an Idmap range set up in our LDAP database.
With 3.2.14, all worked well. The Idmap ou would be

Samba 3.4.9 net rpc shutdown and XP Domain client
Hi @all,
this is an very old problem, posted the first time 2005 to
samba-testers at samba.org:
If I have a Domain client with WinXP, which is part of a domain and
using this client, if the PDC is not available and want to remote shut
down this client with the net tool from other servers, then this is not
possible, because net tries to authenticate against the PDC:

Is that possible to create profiles shares into group structure?
Hi.
I'm using Samba + OpenLDAP.
Samba version 3.4.9.
Everything is working fine.
But I would like to put the roaming user profiles in a directory structure
considering the group of the users.
For example, for now I have:
/home/company/profiles/user1
/home/company/profiles/user2
/home/company/profiles/user3
And I would like to use:
/home/company/profiles/financial/user1

Unable to compile Samba 3.5.6 on Solaris 9 - more winbind issues
Greetings,
No helpful hints have been offered to my winbind issues with Samba 3.4.9
and Solaris 9 I started trying to build Samba 3.5.6. Using gcc 3.4.6.
I added "-lintl" to the LIBS option in the Makefile which cleared some
earlier linker errors involving libintl_gettext, libintl_textdomain and
libintl_bindtextdomain being undefined, except with winbind:

[LLVMdev] Help with building LLVM 2.6 GCC
Hi Aaron, Duncan
Thanks for the answers.
>From Duncan's e-mail, I've tried to build llvm-2.6. First problem was
a missing dependence on lbffi.so.4.
But I've downloaded the source from redhat, compiled and passed that point.
Now I have another missing dependence on GLIBCXX_3.4.9. The version in
my system is 3.4.6-11.
I've been looking around for a 3.4.9 rpm for redhat, could

Sangnoma + Digium Bridging
I'm trying to install both a Sangnoma A102 (with echo cancellation) card and
a Digium 8 port analog card with echo cancellation (Digium AEX800E) in the
same server. I know I probably shouldn't have mixed vendors - lesson
learned for next time.
That said, I have everything working fine...except Native Bridging between
the Sangnoma and Digium cards. When I do native bridging, I get a very

Distortion and block on analog lines
Hi listers!
Have a problem with distortion in some analog lines. When some call comes in
from PSTN the sound is really distorte, nothing can be understanded, but
Internal calls work ok.
Funny thing is that when I start/stop asterisk, dahdi, and wanrouter services
eveything goes fine again. This is happening every week or so. I'm using
asterisk 1.4.36, dahdi linux 2.2.0.2 and wanpipe 3.4.9

Winbindd foreign language issue
Hi,
Could somebody look at this problem?
In 3.5.5
If I set "unix charset" to something other than UTF-8 like Chinese then
'getent passwd or groups ' doesn't list ADS users/groups in foreign
languages.
'wbinfo -ug' works fine but I guess they are not transfered to nsswitch
layer.
In 3.5.4
even 'wbinfo -g' doesn't list ADS groups in foreign language.

Joining Windows 7 to Samba PDC
Hi folks,
I've spent more than a week trying to get Windows 7 Pro workstations to work
with a Samba PDC ver. 3.5.x (without LDAP). I've studied thousands of lines, the
Samba documentation, forums, etc. No problem joining machines to the domain, but
the users cannot logon, with the error "There is currently no logon servers
available". I've tried most 3.5.x versions, all with

I think gentoo is pretty baller so I wouldn't apologize for using it.
Anyway I would try unmasking samba-3.5.6, I have been using it for a
couple of weeks and it has been great. I had a bit of trouble with the

Read only problem on MS Office files
Hi everybody,
We've been running a samba server for some time, which is used both as PDC
and share space.
Recently, we bought some new machines which came with Windows 7 installed. I
struggled to find a solution to make them join the domain, and discovered I
had to upgrade samba for that, which I did.
We are now running version 3.4.9-42 on CentOS5.
Since this upgrade, we have problems with
