I am having trouble mounting drives. We have a Windows 2008 (10.1.1.17,
MRISRV02) server with folders I what access to. On my Fedora 8 client, in
my fstab file, I have:

Account locking synchronization between Linux and Windows (my solution)
We are using a Samba domain controller with a Sun Directory Server 7 LDAP backend and we observed that when an account was locked out on Windows, it would not lock the account on Linux as well.
We are using Samba 3.0.33 on CentOS 5.3 and this is the change I made:
To configure samba to perform proper windows lockout in conjunction
with a linux lockout,

Reason: WINDOWS 7 and PDC
Is something to consider when changing (config-Files or so on)?
Have I to uninstall Samba 3.0.33 before or just run an update?
Thx for hints.

Samba Upgrade 3.0.33 to 3.6.13.
Hello,
I'm attempting to upgrade a server from Samba 3.0.33 to Samba 3.6.13.
I'm testing the upgrade on a virtual machine with the same set up and
data as the production server. My problem is that the SID to UID
mappings and permissions aren't carrying over to the new version.
Here's what I'm doing:
- Uninstall previous version RPMs (This is a CentOS 5.5 server)
- Install

NTLMv2 compatibility in Samba 3.0.33 standard packages
Good afternoon/morning/evening everyone,
I've been running into
the problem of clients using Windows 7 with CentOS 5.X and file/printer
sharing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the stand samba-3.0.33-x.x.x
packages DO NOT provide compatibility with Windows Vista/7. I've had to
manually compile samba from source or use the samba3x packages to fix
the problem. Just wondering if we're

Samba 3.0.33 works, 3.5.4 doesn't
I'm trying to get AD authentication working on a RHEL 5.4 base system
I can wbinfo -[ug] and getent {passwd|group} with 3.0.33 Everything
appears to work just fine, except I could not actually authenticate...
I'd always get failed password. A lot of Googling turned up a bug that
indicated that it was impossible to get 3.0.33 to authenticate against a
W2K8 AD, so I installed 3.5.4 Same

Samba 3.4 on Centos 5.3
Dear Sirs,
I'm running a vanilla CentOS 5.3 server, and yum there has Samba
3.0.33. What's the recommended way to install Samba 3.4 as an upgrade
over 3.0.33? Just ./configure && make && sudo make install ?
Cheers
Nik
