I have 28GB but "Only the first 16 GB of the physical memory map can be accessed..."
I''m currently using the xen-3.0-testing.hg version with the XEN_TARGET_X86_PAE=y complied dom0/hypervisor. I have an HP dl585 with 28GB but the hypervisor boots and says "(XEN) WARNING: Only the first 16 GB of the physical memory map can be accessed...". Xentop shows 16GB. When I boot a RHEL4 2.6.9 hugemem kernel, I can see all 28GB. Any suggestions? Toby Ford USi ___________________________________...

Xapian support for huge data sets?
...pproximately 350 million docs/10TB data that doubles every 3 years. The data mostly consists of Oracle DB records, webpage-ish files (HTML/XML, etc.) and office-type docs (doc, pdf, etc.). There are anywhere from 2 to 4 dozen users on the system at any one time. The indexing server has upwards of 28GB memory, but even then, it gets extremely taxed, and will only get worse. In the opinion of this list, would Xapian be able to handle this kind of load, or should I evaluate more ?enterprise?-like solutions (GSA, etc.)? Thanks.

commiting SAM database
...was raised up to windows 2012 over the years. The domain is responsible for the login of all 20.000 students. So over the years they have over 170.000 Objects. For the migration we used the 4.11 sernet-packages. We started with 32GB of RAM and noticed that this was not enough. We raised the RAM to 128GB. After reading all objects the system needed 28GB RAM but then the "commiting SAM database" process started and the RAM usage increases up to 68GB. Because we have to get the new domain running we stopped the migration after 28 hours. Because the original domain is getting all objects via...

'puppet storeconfigs export' killed
...l, connects to the database and fetches all the data, but then it seems to get stuck after this output line: Info: Connecting to mysql2 database: puppet Meanwhile, a CPU is working and the amount of memory used by this process increases constantly. I have tried on several servers, one with up to 28GB of RAM, and it died the same way. Here are the facts of my last attempt: The execution output: [root@ST-L226-ROGTORG ~]# time puppet storeconfigs --verbose --debug export Debug: Using settings: adding file resource ''confdir'': ''File[/etc/puppet]{:path=>"/etc/p...
