strangest thing with Raid1 and samba
Hi everyone, I am having the strangest thing on my debian server with raid1 configuration. Having it setup so that there are 2 partitions (both raid1) on one disk. On the first partition is debian/linux and the second the /home(this is about 270G. I am unable to map a share to the second partition. The error is just the same as if you create a share and edit a wrong "path =" option. Samba log also say's it can't find the directory. If I use a directory on the first raid1 partition(MD0, 8G) it has no problems. But us...

...ist-Archive: http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/ Hello. I have a problem with samba 2.2.1a. I'm using samba 2.2.1a on a dual cpu 1 Gh with 2 GB of RAM running on linux 2.4.6 (slackware distro). I'm in a network with about 1000 PCs, where only 80 have access to the samba server sharing 270G of Mp3s, movies, etc. So, I first started samba with rc.samba, but some days later it stopped working. There were about 100 processes smbd running (with D flag) and all the 2 GB of RAM were used. So I started running samba via inetd because the smbds were killed when dead. It seemed to work. Some...
