[PATCH 1/1] ocfs2: Add missing iput() during error handling in ocfs2_dentry_attach_lock()
...ach_lock(), if unable to get the dentry lock(), we need to call iput(inode) because a failure here means no d_instantiate(), which means the normally matching iput() will not be called during dput(dentry). This patch fixes the oops that accompanies the following message: (3996,1):dlm_empty_lockres:2708 ERROR: lockres W00000000000000000a1046b06a4382 still has local locks! kernel BUG in dlm_empty_lockres at /rpmbuild/smushran/BUILD/ocfs2-1.4.2/fs/ocfs2/dlm/dlmmaster.c:2709! Cannot change NTACL for share from Windows
...index.php/File_System_Support#File_systems_without_xattr_support Not recommended, though, as it comes with a significant performance hit. There seems to be anecdotal evidence, however, that xattr may work even with an unprivileged container when btrfs is used. https://github.com/lxc/lxc/issues/2708#issuecomment-473466062 I couldn't find more sources to confirm this though. May run some tests of my own when I find the time. Viktor

Samba 3.0.14 (Debian Sarge) Memory Leakage
Hi! Our Samba file server seems to have a memory leakage. We are using samba as file server out of the box (debian sarge) on kernel 2.6.16.31. After a while users who have some shares and files open are acquiring more and more memory until the smbd dies. Here is a small shortcut from top: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 13843 gxxxxx 16 0 51792 44m 2552 S
