Openldap 2.3 very very slow under Xen 3.0.2 ... why ?

I''ve just installed an openldap 2.3 inside a debian etch domU.
Openldap is very very slow with db4.2, 4.3, ... and I dont'' why ???
I''ve updated my libc6 to a friendly xen version too ...
but nothing !
