limit user to its bandwidth
...major problem with restricting the user to his configured bandwidth. I know it sounds simple but it is not. I need the user to be able to use 2 classes. One for internet and one for Local traffic. Now even when the user is using both classes at the same time I do not want him to exceed lets say 256kbits. PLEASE I NEED HELP.!!!! Question regarding HTB
...pes of guaranteed band: metro and extern. Now.. the link comes into my gw. I have an IP which my ISP gave it to me which is eth0. I have 2 other PI clasess 194.126.178.0/23. What I want to do is this: make a HTB script which can limit the bandwidth on each PI individual (ex. on 178.7 i want to have 256kbits extern with 2Mbits metro, on 179.3 i want 128kb with 8mb and so on). All of HTB scripts that my friends gave it to me can limit ALL the bandwidth (extern+metro) and I don`t want that. I have all metro routes in a file called ''clases'' if this is important. If anyone can help me pls...

...between lan1 and lan2 is lower than it supposed to be If i log in to router1 and transfer something from router2 or lan2 it is working at maximum speed, 1024kbits/s. The problem is if i log in to a computer in lan1 and try to transfer something either from router2 or lan2 is working very poor, with 256kbits or worse. I also tried to add that line in iptables with --clamp-mss... same no luck I ran out of ideas and this is driving me crazy. PLease help!

burst according to time limit???
I was wondering if there is a queue with which I could have a regular rate limit at some kbits (say 256kbits) for my ethernet stations, but allow burstable sessions with a multiple limit (512 kbits) for a specific time (say 3 minutes). Of course, this is the same with having bursts of some Megabit buckets (measuring bits and not time), but for such big bursts i think it isn''t what i need...

limiting bandwidth on iface
...p flowid 1:20 ~ 43 # everthing that comes to me is downstream ~ 44 $U32 match ip dst $tunip flowid 1:10 - -----snap----- eplanations: $tunip is the ip of this end of the tunnel $tc = tc OK, I tryied this setup and noticed that approximately every 60 seconds, the bandwidth gues up to about 256kbits for about 3 seconds - I have no explanation for this - well, I do not really know what to set as parameter for burst/cburst... Any ideas, grave mistakes? thanks a lot, Marcus Fritzsch - -- ~ s(c,t){return isalpha(c)&&t?/* Marcus Fritzsch <ma...

patch: HTB update for ADSL users
OK, here it is. Near perfect bandwidth calculation for ADSL users. Patch iproute2 with the HTB stuff and then this: It''s still a hack (as far as I can tell) because we are patching the rates tables, and hence I think it is only loosly coupled with the actual calculation of bytes in each bucket. However, it works very nicely for me! I have only been lightly testing with
