possibly stupid question about RPM building
...ols/R/tools ?? I am at the edge of my comprehension here ... Searching for "R_decompress1", "internal error", etc., on Google/RSiteSearch gave nothing Searching on "package seems to be using lazy loading already" finds a few old hits, but no solutions. I have 252M free space (the first time this happened I had only 50M ...) Could this possibly be related to having another (old) instance of R running at the same time? Seems unlikely but ... does anyone have any hints? sincerely Ben Bolker -- 620B Bartram Hall bo...

Installation problems with large mirrored drives
I am trying to install CentOS 4.6 to a pair of 750GB hard drives. I can successfully install to either of the drives as a single drive, but when I try to use both drives and mirror the partitions, I start having problems. Anaconda crashes as it is trying to format the drives. This is what I'm trying to create: /dev/md0: 200MB, /boot /dev/md1: 2GB, swap /dev/md2: rest of the

In fact, the installation script asks you one by one if you want to uninstall any of the prior versions. As you can see, I c...

unaccounted for daily growth in ZFS disk space usage
We finally flipped the switch on one of our ZFS-based servers, with approximately 1TB of 2.8TB (3 stripes of 950MB or so, each of which is a RAID5 volume on the adaptec card). We have snapshots every 4 hours for the first few days. If you add up the snapshot references it appears somewhat high versus daily use (mostly mail boxes, spam, etc changing), but say an aggregate of no more than 400+MB a

Openshot 2.x (beta) on C7??
I'm interested in trying out the new OpenShot beta (2.06) on CentOS 7. Openshot requires Python3. so I look at available packages where I find a bunchof python3 packages as well as python34 packages. I'm assuming that python34 is version 3.4 of python, while python3 is some other 3.x version. Can anyone here explain to me what are the differences, any compatibility across these
