read.table fails with \246 separator (PR#3035)
Full_Name: Don Allen
Version: 1.6.2
OS: Solaris
Submission from: (NULL) (140.186.148.11)
If you use '\246' to separate fields in a csv-like file, read.table fails if
you
have more than 5 lines in the file (in the following, the separators in junk.csv
are really '\246's, despite the way they printed):
Fails:
> read.table("/tmp/junk.csv",as.is=T,header=T,sep="\246")...

Input/Output error - Not Samba ?
Hi,
I have a very odd problem which perhaps is not related to Samba but to be
sure...
I have a RH6.2 2.2.20 ACLs Samba server 2.2.2 and everything is/was running
fine partaking in a Windows 2000 domain.
I needed to reboot the server. It has come up and I am getting
"input/output errors" all over the logs when I try and access any of the
shares on the raid array from a Windows client

rsync 246 P24, Sol2.8 - transfer interrupted (code 1)?
Hi
I'm a new rsync user. I have two systems, A and B both with rsync
installed. I've setup rsync in daemon mode on system B and want to rsync
a directory /projects/sw/lib/ from system A to system B. My rsyncd.conf
file on system B looks like this:
[swlibrary]
path = /projects/sw
comment = Master Libraries
If I execute on system A:

rsync with 8bit filename characters or UTF8
...ive/c/
tester@blabla.com:data/current/c
(some params omitted for readability's sake)
Now c:\backup\l?l will not be synced because the -/backup/* rule
excludes it. It seems this is because rsync is seeing /backup/l?l as
/backup/lvl, which is the non-extended ascii version of this path (? is
246 in ascii extended, 246-128=118, which is v).
I have tried putting + /backup/lvl in the include file, without success.
Does anyone know how to avoid this problem (workaround or real
solution), and who is actually the originator of the problem (cygwin,
rsync, rsync on FreeBSD server, FreeBSD). In...
