GT216M [GeForce GT 240M] (NV50/Tesla) sddm fails to start since commit 0a2f6372a43ff5e948b8b10be34d4473f6c2ef6c
Dear nouveau mailing list,
on my notebook with the GeForce GT 240M graphics card, I am failing to start
sddm since linux kernel 6.5.0.
The screen typically goes black or white, mouse pointer is typically visible
and can be moved.
This happens about 90% of times I try to start the system; in about 10%,
everything works fine.
If the start fails, dmesg shows output...

Hello!
The system is Debian Squeeze. Wine-1.3.0 was compiled from sources and installed according to instruction included.

size limits
Hi,
I have a few questions about how to handle large data sets in R.
What is the size of the largest matrix that R can comfortably deal with?
Is this size limit imposed by R's software, or is it a question
of the machine that one runs on?
How does one go about choosing reasonable values of vsize
and nsize?
I have a data set with about 1,000,000 rows, and 30

Acer Aspire 5739G - Wine doesn't work
...ar or an installer. In fact the only .exe files that work are the ones included in wine (notepad, gecko etc).
Here's some notebook data:
Intel? Core?2 Duo Processor T6500,2MB L2 cache, 2.10GHz, 800MHz FSB
Mobile Intel? PM45 Express
4GB (2/2) DDR3 1066 SDRAM
250GB hard drive
NVIDIA? GeForce? GT 240M graphics
What I tried so far was:
Different NVidia driver versions (180.xx, 185.xx, 190.xx)
Wine 1.1.31, 1.1.37, 1.1.38
Thanks for any answers

Wine and /home partition woes on Gentoo/amd64
I apologize if the question has been posed before, but I did not find any similar posts by browsing or searching through the forums. Here it goes:
I have been using Gentoo Linux for a year now, and never have I had a problem I couldn't solve. However, not long ago I bought a 1 TB hard disk which I divided into 7 partitions: /boot, (swap), /, /var, /tmp, /usr and /home (yes, that's FreeBSD

[Bug 98030] New: Stuttering video playback in totem after update to 1.19-rc1
...video
playback in totem stutters every few seconds to the point of being unwatchable.
It doesn't happen with video playback (e.g. YouTube) in Firefox, and system
generally works fine. Downgrading the update "fixes" the problem.

unaccounted for daily growth in ZFS disk space usage
We finally flipped the switch on one of our ZFS-based servers, with
approximately 1TB of 2.8TB (3 stripes of 950MB or so, each of which is
a RAID5 volume on the adaptec card). We have snapshots every 4 hours
for the first few days. If you add up the snapshot references it
appears somewhat high versus daily use (mostly mail boxes, spam, etc
changing), but say an aggregate of no more than 400+MB a
