Hello We use WinXP SP3 with samba "version 3.5.4-2382-SUSE-SL10.0" We have some drives mapped to users, most of them work fine but one behaves weird: upon starting the task manager by ctrl-alt-delete, the network drive disconnects.

Hi! My boss asked me to be able to share some directories on a FreeBSD Samba server with users already created (and used) on a NT 4.0 PDC server. So I followed http://www.sugoi.org/bits/index.php?bit_id=10 I just replaced the Windows 2k part by adding the NetBIOS name of the machine to the NT PDC. When I did the smbpasswd trick it worked like charm: testsmb# smbpasswd -j CH-DOMAIN -r PDC

All files transferred to my Samba server end up with lower case on the Unix box. Case is not preserved from NT to Unix. For example, if I copy C:\Temp\MyFile to a directory on the Samba server, it ends up there as myfile. What am I missing? I browsed the FAQ's in the web pages, without success... A problem I have with most applications I've tried is after several minutes, they will slow down to a crawl, becoming unusable. The program I'm mainly interested in is Painkiller (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/painkiller/index.html).
