Problems with big files, RHEL 4 Clone Samba 3.01014
...server will be very slow.
ping ServerXX more than 2sec, the server is no longer available.
The interesting is, the system has only 0.2 CPU load
Starting again Samba alone is not sufficient.
Only a server restart helps.
I found that in the Samba log file.

Backing Up To Windows File Server
...eetings,
Working with dsync and setting up backups to a Windows file server.
Problem seems to be that Windows is renaming the dovecot mail files
(maildir) to Windows friendly filenames, and losing the Dovecot name.
For example,
1323817925.M36368P32049.triata.globalchangemultimedia.net,S=2255,W=2318:2,S
becomes 1AETPH~X.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to tell Windows to not do this? Or
is it not possible?

Hi.
As you can see from bug #2318 which is very loosely related to this
one, I was recently experimenting with control channel muxing.
#2318 is about collisions, when the socket is placed into locations
writeable by multiple users - i.e. %u was "missing" from %C and the
suggestion in the manpage.
Now I thought whether t...

Format dates prior to index
Hi all-
I would like to enable search in my application via Ferret and a number
of my searchable classes contain dates (of type Time). When these
classes are indexed, the dates are written per the standard to_s output
(e.g. "Wed Dec 07 08:56:04 CDT 2006"), which is not suitable for date
range queries. Is it possible to format the dates before they are
indexed (e.g.
