Network UPS Tools for APC Smart-UPS 5000VA 230V SRT
Dear,
Currently, I'm looking for a UPS that can support NUT. I found an APC
Smart-UPS 5000VA 230V SRT, but I'm not 100% that is supported.
*APC Smart-UPS 5000VA 230V SRT*

I searched in http://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html and I found that
you support "*APC Smart*" I would just to confirm that...

OK lets just make sure we are answering the right question. The
general/specified UK/European voltage is 230V but the UPS is generating
240v. What is input.nominal.voltage meant to mean in the context of what
the UPS (and up...

Noob Question : Compatibility between NUT and an APC BACK-UPS RS 1500VA 230V
Hi,
It's the first time that we want to use an UPS in our labo. We have 1
server, which are running under an old version of opensuse. We would
like to use the stable tree of nut on the computer with an APC BACK-UPS
RS 1500VA 230V. I have seen on the compatibility page, that this UPS is
supported. is there anyone, who uses this UPS with NUT to confirm that ?
Thanks a lot,
Best regards,

Thats a moot point. After European Harmonisation (UK was on 240V EU on
220V) they settled for 230V nominal but then defined tolerences of
+/-10% so that everyone suddenly "conformed" to the new regulations
without doing anything. Whilst a lot of the UK is actually on 230...

That's the thing, due to the patchwork of methods required to poll the different 0001-type protocols, it *was* scaling some of the voltages - just not for protocol 1001 or 2001.

The commit listed above (f61eadb5) includes the scaling, and it is on master (currently 4b753dc7). If upsc shows "driver.version.internal: 0.28" or 0.29, you have it all installed correctly.

Have you tried with apcupsd? Which protocol does apcupsd use for the
Back-UPS 390 ?

I meant the ? APC UPS Daemon ? at http://www.apcupsd.org/
Does this support your UPS unit? If so, what protocol is it using?
What is the model number of your unit? BX650CI ?

Try installing and using apcupsd. Does it work correctly with the
BX700UI? Which protocol is it using?

Best UPS protocol for home-made firmware?
Hi all,
I'm writing the firmware for a home-made 12V UPS, which will be used to
power low-voltage equipment in my home like my ADSL modem, router,
switches and a Soekris net4801. The home-made UPS can run those devices
on the same batteries as my 230V UPS, but last for several hours rather
than a few minutes due to increased efficiency. The microcontroller I'm
using has a serial interface that's presented using a USB to serial
converter.
I'd really like this UPS to interface with NUT so that I can use a
variety of tools to monit...

The server we are using is headless, I can?t install a desktop software
unfortunately.
That?s why I am trying to find a driver for NUT on OpenMediaVault.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for your advise. I tried
driver = apcupsd
port = auto
But unfortunately I get the same error message ?Failed to execute command
?upsc 'ups' 2>&1': Error: Driver not connected"
As I am not very good in using OMV, maybe there is something else I should
do? Thanks
Best regards

...at made sense at the time, the "ups.debug.*" variables in tripplite_usb actually start printing from value+1 (I suppose because v_value[0] is always 'V'). So the input.voltage.nominal value gets set properly because v_value[1] is actually '2'.
I went ahead and changed the 230V nominal to 240V.

If you want to rebuild the driver, let me know - even though yours seems to be from NUT 2.6.4, I doubt there will be any issues with building the 2.7.2+ Git version and dropping it in.

APC UPS wrong input voltage
...I've asked this question on the FreeNAS forum but there are no ideas there
as it looks like it's a NUT issue.
Original question:
https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/apc-ups-reporting-wrong-input-voltage.60888/
the nut driver is reporting the wrong input voltage. I am in the UK, 230V
but it's reporting circa 108.
If I connect it to the laptop and run powerchute it reports the correct
voltage.
AFAIK, the driver is the correct one.
Anything I can try to get this corrected?
Thanks.

Using this UPS in the UK on 240V mains.
Connected via USB:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 09ae:0001 Tripp Lite
Requires tripplite_usb driver as it is (Product ID: 0001). There is an
entry in the compatibity list for OMNIVS800 USB (protocol 2012) using
usbhid-ups which is little misleading (although I guess maybe correct
for some instances of the UPS).

Do you know what software was originally recommended for the UPS?
Unfortunately, Phoenixtec seems to have made a lot of different USB-to-serial adapters.
The most likely driver is blazer_usb (or nutdrv_qx, which is newer). You may need to shut dow...
