Timing

Hi,
As I understand it, Asterisk currently uses the timestamps in incoming RTP
packets to build outgoing voice frames. Is this true?
Would it be possible for me to use i.e. zaprtc as a timing source for the
outgoing stream? I.e. in a setup like below I'd like to use zaprtc timing on
Ast1 because I don't trust the timestamps coming from

Lartc & Squid
...re linked to 2 isp--one having satelite & the other OFC. We want the
above mentioned network to go thru OFC(ispB) as the sibling resides
there. But when i use squidclient mgr:server_list command i see that rtt
is still 650ms which is the time taken by satelite provider(ispA). The
OFC takes 230ms.
On this linux box we have 2 interface linked to different isp & the 3rd
serves our local network.. The rules defined are...

C#/Silverlight port of Speex echo canceller
...this, but
I'd like to see if I can get feedback on two questions:
(1) Through the current release (v4.0), Silverlight introduces a surprising
amount of latency when playing and recording audio. The time from when I
submit a sound to be played until I record that sound coming back ranges
from 230ms to 270ms, depending on the machine. This is roughly a 12-frame
delay, and is obviously much larger than the 2-frame latency that Jean-Marc
assumed when he was coding up the Speex AEC. One possible way of
compensating for this would be to increase the tail (to make room for ~350ms
worth of sound),...

SIP registration timeout
...incides with the SIP
registration timeout, but since the first registration works, why would
it have problems on the second or third?
Has anyone else been having this problem?
I am running Asterisk (1.0.5-r1) on Gentoo from a DSL connection in
Thailand. My ping times to the proxy is between about 230ms and 350ms
(I know this is quite long for VoIP, but when it works, it works fine
for my purposes). To handle the changing of IP addresses with my DSL, I
set up a local DNS server which dynamically updates the IP of an
internal hostname to the IP of the external firewall, and added a script
that exec...
