Hi! Since upgrade to Samba 3.6.9, I am experiencing problems concerning winbind idmapping. I am using an LDAP directory with RFC 2307 accounts and sambaSamAccount sambaSID entries for each local domain user. SIDs for other domains should be stored in sambaIdmapEntry objects in a separate LDAP tree. Hi, we now have an old Windows NT4.0 domain served by Samba 4.2.x (using Samba and LDAP) and want to move to Windows AD. The reason we need to do that is because of the clients (Windows 10 and MacOS) and because of a third party device which does not want to talk to Samba AD (Isilon OneFS). I have two DC's with Samba 4.2.1 (primary DC) and 4.2.3 (secondary DC). I have installed Samba 4 from the source code (configure,make,make install). I'm using rfc 2307. I have user objects. They need UNIX attributes. Currently I have to set these attributes manually. Is there a way to automatically add a UNIX uid and gid to a user object in Samba? It would be a handy feature to have idmap_ad implement an alloc routine to write back the uid and gid mappings to AD either as SFU attributes or RFC 2307 attributes. I figure this could allow dynamic uid and gid allocation that can be easily preserved across multiple domains in a Windows environment. Has there been any attempt to provide this feature? Ross S. W.
