First value in a row
Hi.
This is likely a trivial problem but have not found a solution.
Imagine the following dataframe:
Lat Lon x1 x2 x3
01 10 NA NA .1
01 11 NA .2 .3
01 12 .4 .5 .6
I want to generate another column that consist of the first value in
each row from columns x1 to x3. That is
NewColumn
.1
.2
.4
Any input greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Camilo

data(eurodist) and PCA ??
If I perform PCA on the 'eurodist' data, should I get an accurate
geographic layout of the cities with biplot?
(barring inversions, i.e. their is no way to define north.. but you get
the idea...)
I have a complex distance matrix, and I am thinking about how to cluster
it and how to visualize the quality of the resulting clusters.
If I could 'see' the clusters in space I could

Fw: PROBLEM - - COMPARING AND COMBINING two DATASETS
...e actual data I am working with.
?
However, there is this peculiar problem which I had realized only after I had obtained my results.
?
e.g. in the example I had attached
?
A?<-?c(2, 2, 1, 3, 7, 3, 3, 1,?14, 7, 31)
B?<- c(0.0728,0.9538,4.0140,0.0020,2.5593,0.1620,2.513,0.3798, .0033,0..2282, 0.1614)
?
tapply( B, A, sum)
?
I get R output as ?
?
?1????????? 2????? ??? 3????? ???? ?7???? ?????? 14???? ???? 31
4.3938?? 1.0266?? 2.6770??? 2.7875??? 0.0033??? 0.1614
?
However, my requirement is I should get the output as
?
1 ?????????2????? ????3 ????? ??4 ?5 ?6 ?7?? ??????8 ?9 ?...

SVM Prediction and Plot
...edict(Svm, BankTest[,-1], probability=TRUE)
> SvmPredRes = table(Pred = SvmPred, True = BankTest[,1])
I get this error:
Error in table(Pred = SvmPred, True = BankTest) : all arguments must have
the same length
I checked the length of both BankTest[,1] and SvmPredict.
> length(SvmPred)
[1] 2282
> length(BankTest[,1])
[1] 2598
How are these two columns not the same size? Surely the prediction should
try to predict all the values of BankTest[,1]?
Any help would be much appreciated.
