Negative numbers in (encapsulated) postscript generated by R loose their sign when opened in Adobe Illustrator 8 (french). This was so in 1.5.x and remains in 1.6.0. I suppose that this is a known issue, although it is rather a flaw in Illustrator than in R, if my analysis of it is correct.
