Last call for Syslinux 3.70
Hi all, I have just released syslinux-3.70-pre25. Unless someone has something big and scary that either I have managed to miss or was just stumbled over, I'm going to release 3.70 final some time between tomorrow and Monday. Thus, *please holler now* if there are any stop-ship problems still known... -hpa

Bug in read.table() (PR#1477)
The following command, temp <- read.table("c:/rfr/r/test.txt") reads the text file "test.txt", which contains the following lines: 21437 21438 21419-2 21420-2 21421-2 21422-2 and produces the following result: > temp V1 1 21437+0i 2 21438+0i 3 0+0i 4 0+0i 5 0+0i 6 0+0i > These "numbers" are actually sample ID's, and I expected the presence of the hyphen would cause temp to be character or a factor, but it...

fitting a gaussian to some x,y data
I apologize if this is redundant. I've been Googling, searching the archive and reading the help all morning and I am not getting closer to my goal. I have a series of data( xi, yi). It is not evenly sampled and it is messy (meaning that there is a lot of scatter in the data). I want to fit a normal distribution (i.e. a gaussian) to the data in order to find the center. (The data

[LLVMdev] MergeFunctions: reduce complexity to O(log(N))
Hi Stepan, Sorry for the delay. It's great that you are working on MergeFunctions as well and I agree, we should definitely try to combine our efforts to improve MergeFunctions. Just to give you some context, the pass (with the similar function merging patch) is already being used in a production setting. From my point of view, it would be better if we focus on improving its capability
