SuperServer 6024H-82R and Centos 3.3
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any familiarity with this server? It uses the Super X6DH8-G2 motherboard. Currently, we've added an Adaptec 2120S Ultra320 RAID PCI Controller Card to get RAID 5 capability. The installation bombs and from what I can tell it looks like we're getting SCSI resets or the controller is going offline maybe. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -- <<JAV>>

CentOS 4 - i2o_block - Adaptec RAID
I know I saw some other posts on this in the archives, but I wanted to see if there was any new information. I have MANY Intel servers (SR1200, SR1300, etc.) that are using the Adaptec 2010S, 2100S, 2110S and 2120S SCSI RAID Controllers. They are currently running CentOS3.4 and everything works great. From what I know, these cards should be able to use the i2o_block driver which is part of the kernel, but it doesn''t seem to work in CentOS4. The installer can''t find any drives. I''ve...

Intel ZCR Controllers ...
I'm about to get two fully configured servers dumped into my lap ... both of them are currently *stably* running Linux, and are to be reformated (apparently tomorrow) with FreeBSD 4.8 ... Are there any known issues, like the 'over 2G' issue with the Adaptec 2120s card, with the Intel ZCR Raid controllers that should make me wary of accepting these servers? Is anyone using them in large servers (ie. 4G of RAM) and happy with them? Any 'caveat emptor' on these? :( Thanks ...

bug in aac driver (revisited?)
I am posting this as I was researching an issue with my Adaptec 2200s controller, where I would get command timeouts on the controller under heavy constant load (either using rsync or ncftp to mirror folders). I noticed some interesting information that Scott Long posted about issues with 4GB RAM and the firmware. Well, I have 4GB of RAM, and a SuperMicro X5DPL-iGM mobo (intel 7501 chipset), and

serious networking (em) performance (ggate and NFS) problem
Dear best guys, I really love 5.3 in many ways but here're some unbelievable transfer rates, after I went out and bought a pair of Intel GigaBit Ethernet Cards to solve my performance problem (*laugh*): (In short, see *** below) Tests were done with two Intel GigaBit Ethernet cards (82547EI, 32bit PCI Desktop adapter MT) connected directly without a switch/hub and "device
