winbindd losing track of RFC2307 UIDs
...o SMB traffic), I did something similar: - stop Samba on the member - remove the idmap tables completely - restart Samba on the member After a week of running, this seems to be working without issue! My guess (without looking at the code) is that one of the smbd processes had a record of a UID=20xx user, and did reverse lookup to find the SID, and somehow that led winbindd to always use the idmap.tdb info instead of querying AD for that SID. _Rob

Add baked-in support for Tripp Lite 302x protocols (they seem to generally work with ups.conf modification)
Hi all, I'm from Tripp Lite. Many of our smaller standby and line-interactive have recently changed from 20xx protocol numbers to 302x protocol numbers. This has caused issues for a few people on the users mailing list, for example: https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2020-June/011876.html https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2020-June/011878.html https://alioth-lists.d...

GXP-21XX
Anyone used the new Grandstream GXP-21XX series phones. We have been testing these phones and like what we see. We are looking for a greater cross section of testing before we roll them to production. Any feed back would be appreciated. We are talking with Grandstream engineering and they are looking for feed back as well. Any input is appreciated. Thanks Bryant -------------- next part

Fw: Xen, full virtualization and Virtual Machine Manager ?

The next step was to recreate a working version on this machine, using full virtualization of some test OS''s, one goal would be Microsoft Server 20xx and being able to view the console of the guest machine. I have kernel 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 running from the Debian lenny distribution. Using the Virtual Machine Manager I attempted to create a new virtual system, my test OS was the CrunchBang Linux distribution. Selecting local install media (...

The case for freezing CRAN
There is a central assertion to this argument that I don't follow: > At the end of the day most published results obtained with R just won't be reproducible. This is a very strong assertion. What is the evidence for it? I write a lot of Sweave/knitr in house as a way of documenting complex analyses, and a glm() based logistic regression looks the same yesterday as it will

Problem Running a game called Gothic
So, I am having a problem running this game I installed in the virtual drive created by Wine. I am new to running anything through wine. My current OS is Ubuntu 10.04 and the version of Wine that I am using is 1.1.43. The game seems to crash before I can even open it. High volume BLF - Suggestions?
Hi, We have a user who is putting large call volumes through Asterisk, and wants to BLF monitor up to 90 extensions. We are struggling to find a handset that can keep up with Asterisk :) 1) Is there a handset that will do this? 2) Is there a different (standard) way to send BLF and allow directed pickups? 2a) Or even a handset specific way? Asterisk handles the BLF volume fine, even on quite

winbindd losing track of RFC2307 UIDs
Hi all, I've been experiencing an intermittent problem where some UIDs on a member server spontaneously change from being their AD-derived values to being allocated from the default idmap space, even when there is no change to the AD user information. Specifically, I have a member server running Samba 4.4.5 on CentOS 6.8. AD service is provided by two Samba 4.4.5 servers. The member
