interpolation
Dear R-users,
I have a complex line by xy-values (ordered by z).
And I would like to get interpolated y-values on the positions of x = 0:600.
How do I get the correct points?
x=c(790,790,790,790,790,786,783,778,778,766,763,761,761,761,715,628,521,350,160,134,134,129,108,101,93,111,161,249,288,243,139,45,7)

msn authentication
hi guys! i'm going to share a workaround for authentication from msn messenger, you have to change two lines in chan_sip.c
msn messenger is known to look for the correct realm in authentication, therefore, change the realm in chan_sip.c, line 2061 and line 2910 (release 0.4.0)
i hope the realm can be parsed from extensions.conf in the next release...

Downgrading RubyGems using Package provider => gem
...version will result in Puppet
installing the older version, however RubyGems will also keep the
newer version, and this newer version will remain the default.
The issue was actually reported a couple of years ago, so I''ve updated
the original ticket:
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/2061
I would like to see the Package provider have an option to remove
other versions of a gem it is managing, so that only the version you
specify remains.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ryan

Auto callout - reminder - is it possible?
I'm trying to get a script working on a website to send out automatic
email reminders to customers reminding them monthly to change furnace
filters. I haven't got one running successfully, yet.
That made me think - could it be done with a phone call using Asterisk?
A monthly automated phone call to remind people to change their furnace
filter?
I have no ability to figure this out

Inconsistency in handling of numeric input with %d by sprintf
I initially thought this is "documented behaviour". ?sprintf says:
Numeric variables with __exactly integer__ values will be coerced to
integer. (emphasis mine).
Turns out this only works when the first value is numeric and not NA, as
shown by the following example:
> sprintf("%d", as.numeric(c(NA,1)))
Error in sprintf("%d", as.numeric(c(NA, 1))) :
