Postfix problems with maximum messages size
...o effect.
Squirrelmail is configured to accept and transmit messages
up to 24M and this identical configuration is working on a

strictly at Postfix matter.

Recover files from a broken ext3 partition
...NU ddrescue I was able to read 99.8% of the partition, so
there's hope the data is still there. Unfortunately, some key parts of
the file system seem to be damaged, so e2fsck fails:
- ------------------------------
% ddrescuelog -l- -b4096 sdd5.ddrescue.log > badblocks.sdd5.4096
% e2fsck -b 20480000 -v -f -L badblocks.sdd5.4096 sdd5
[...]
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
Block 1 in the primary group descriptors is on the bad block list
If the block is really bad, the filesystem can not be fixed.
You can remove this block from the bad block list and hope
that the block is really OK....

When I try doing a e2fsck -b xxx /dev/hda2, on any of the superblocks <=
4096000 I get the message that it's corrupted. When I do >= 7962625, I get
"Invalid argument while trying to open /dev/hda2."
By the way, there's some sort of weird Logical Volume thing...

Dovecot LDA and quota
Hi List,
I recently upgraded to Dovecot 1.1.3 on FreeBSD and got into trouble
over the quotas. We implemented per-user quotas using
plugin {
quota = maildir
}
and
protocol lda {
mail_plugins = quota
}
We use a passwd-file userdb with extra fields, which used to be
quota=maildir:storage:<bytes>
which I changed to
quota_rule=*:bytes:<bytes>

Accidentally issued "mkswap" on ext3 fs -- recovery possible?
Hi,
I accidentally issued "mkswap" on a used ext3 fs partition (~30G) :-/
I have analyzed the behaviour of mkswap using two test files and it
appears to only change "some" bytes:
