Help with dates
Hi all, I?m struggling to get the dates in proper format. I have dates as factors and is in the form 02/27/34( 34 means 1934). If I use as.Date with format %d%m%y it gets converted to 2034-02-27. I tried changing the origin in the as.Date command but nothing worked. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Ramesh

Restricting/Negotiating H323 Port Ranges
...er@provider: Connect from high range port (10006) to provider 1720 They have a few exchanges.... Then asterisk connects from port 10007 to provider:2033 My provider wants this to be port 2020 all the time, but the port number just keeps increasing by one. So the next call will involve a port of 2034 at their end. Is there somewhere in either channel to restrict this middle port range to just 2020? Or is there some negotiation which asterisk/openh323 libraries don't do? Cheers, Woody

S-code for piecewise regression
Dear R-helpers, a S-code for piecewise regressions was provided by Toms & Lesperance (2003) Ecology, 84, 2034-2041 (paper can be found on the web). The code is quite complete with different types of transitions around breakpoints and model selection fonctions. It doesn't work directly under R due to some "translation" problems I guess. However I reckon that it would be a valuable add-on...

recursive snaptshot
I thought I recalled reading somewhere that in the situation where you have several zfs filesystems under one top level directory like this: rpool rpool/ROOT/osol-112 rpool/export rpool/export/home rpool/export/home/reader you could do a shapshot encompassing everything below zpool instead of having to do it at each level. (Maybe it was in a dream...)
