Assigning custom information to IR instruction and passing it to its correspondent in Selection DAG
Hello, I’m looking for the best approach which would allow for marking given LLVM IR instruction during IR custom pass and later utilizing that information during DAG Instruction Selection in order to match given pattern based on this marking. I’m wondering if marking IR instruction utilizing Metadata is good idea. But how later pass that information to DAG and appropriately mark in

[RFC][clang/llvm] Allow efficient implementation of libc's memory functions in C/C++
*TL;DR:* Defining memory functions in C / C++ results in a chicken and egg problem. Clang can mutate the code into semantically equivalent calls to libc. None of `-fno-builtin-memcpy`, `-ffreestanding` nor `-nostdlib` provide a satisfactory answer to the problem. *Goal* Create libc's memory functions (aka `memcpy`, `memset`, `memcmp`, ...) in C++ to benefit from compiler's knowledge and

Automatically backing up and restoring x18 around function calls on AArch64?
Hi, When using Wine to run Windows ARM64 executables on Linux, there's one major ABI incompatibility between the two; Windows treats the x18 register as the reserved platform register, while it is free to be clobbered anywhere in code on Linux. The Wine code sets up this register before passing control over to the Windows executable code, but whenever the Windows code calls a function

[EXTERNAL] Re: RFC - a proposal to support additional symbol metadata in ELF object files in the ARM compiler
Hi Peter, Thanks for the response. If we set aside the discussion of the relationship between sections and the application of the "location" or "at" attribute for a moment, do you have any objections to the proposed method of encoding metadata information about symbols (whether they are associated with actual data objects, functions, or sections) in the ELF object file?

[PATCH v3 01/19] drm: Add |struct drm_gem_vram_object| and helpers
Hi Thomas. Some minor things and some bikeshedding too. One general^Wbikeshedding thing - unint32_t is used in many places. And then s64 in one place. Seems like two concepts are mixed. Maybe be consistent and use u32, s32 everywhere? I did not read the code carefully enough to understand it. I cannot give a r-b or a-b - as I feel I need to understand it to do so.
