[LLVMdev] IndVarSimplify too aggressive ?
Hi all,
The IndVarSimplify pass seems to be too aggressive when it enlarge the induction variable type ; this can pessimize the generated code when the new induction variable size is not natively supported by the target. This is probably not an issue for x86_64, which supports natively all types, but it is a real one for several embedded targets, with very few native types.

Oh, like a link to the email thread, for instance: http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20110314/117996.html ?
As a Phabricator user, I haven’t thought about that, it makes sense I guess.
Thanks for the clarification.

EATON 5130 - testing done
We had a power outage and everything went as expected:
The UPS kicked in, it ran for 11 min while charge dropped from 100% to
10%, then it shut down the host.
When power was restored - 3 hours later - the UPS and the host came up.
