Does anybody know how to 'remember' the variable ${CALLERID(dnid)} ?
A global variable is not an option.
Kind Regards.

Install on two discs with Software Raid and LVM
I am mirroring two drives during install, what's the best practice here for the swap partition? Maybe two separate lv's from independent vg's *not* mirrored for swap and the let the OS manage it? Boot and the / vg will be mirrored.
Thanks!

[LLVMdev] Makefile dependencies and configure test fix
Some low-priority fixes to the build system.... These can probably
wait after 2.2
1) The current configure script checks for gcc 3.x or later by parsing
"gcc --version" output and trying to tokenize it to find the major
compiler version. This is pretty fragile and interacts poorly with
compilers produced by vendors (like Apple) that modify this string to
output target triple

Build VirtualBox OSE for CentOS?
Is there any need for CentOS to build and distribute the OSE version of
VirtualBox?
The differences between the versions are here:
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Editions
The reason I ask is that the Full version is free for personal use and
the restrictions (especially no USB or RDP) make the OSE version fairly
crippled, so I am not sure there is enough benefit to design and keep
updated

Half-Life 1 Issues - Starting Friday
Anyone having issues with the old 1.6 Half-Life engine?
OpenGL mode stopped working for me friday, but its still working in other
windows applications.
Counterstrike 1.6, Half-Life 1, etc won't work.
My brother has same Linux distro and it didn't break for him, so I'm going
out on a whim. I've reinstalled vid card drivers, wine, deleted drive_c,
made a new user account in

tail command
In centos 4 we used tail in the following way:
tail +83 file
That would tail the contents of the file starting at line 83. In centos
5 that same command complains about the file +83 not being found. It
appears that the + option in tail doesn't work the same way in centos 5.
Is there another easy way to grab the contents of a file starting at a
certain line number and beyond.
