Running total of a field in child records
...it a good idea to add a ''total'' column in the ''orders''
table and update it every time a line_item is created/updated/deleted?

Merge strategy for klibc
Okay, as of this point, I think klibc is in quite good shape; my
testing so far is showing that it can be used as a drop-in replacement
for the kernel root-mounting code.
That being said, there is guaranteed to be breakage, for two reasons:
a. There are several architectures which don't have klibc ports yet.
Since I don't have access to them, I can't really do them, either.

Secret URLs and file downloads
I''m looking to do something similar to the "secret URLs" in Rails
Recipes, however, with file downloads. I want to avoid providing direct
URLs to people if possible.
I have files on disk in public/, so it would be good if each user got a
"unique" URL to each file that they are permitted to see (dealt with by
a user_id/file_id table). Then they are only allowed

Wrap error_messages_for() call when no instance var present
I am trying to put some smarts around a call to
<%= error_messages_for %>
so that when I first come into this page i.e. when my instance variable
@target_list has not been defined yet, the page doesn''t break.
I''m doing this:
<% if @target_list? %>
<%= error_messages_for ''target_list'' %>
<% end %>
I get a syntax error on line 1.

Ruby startup slow on Windows Server 2003
Ruby script/console takes 30-secs to start on the Windows 2003 servers in
our shop. Has anyone found a way to speed that up? ( I know Linux is much
faster, but that''s not an option, in this case).

Rails 1.1 and Timezones

Certainly Timezones are as "core" as it can get to web apps.
Any ideas if this is planned?

Some moved or copied messages get stuck in tmp
...#39;ll move it to cur/ directly, because files in
new/ directory can't have flags. alternative would be to write it
in new/ and set the flags dirty in index file, but in that case
external MUAs would see wrong flags. */
that looks like a clue.
It happens with CVS versions 20060320 and 20060325
I hace done almost all tests with Thunderbird.
Best regards.

For developers and users
Hi folks...
WineHQ web-site isn't exaustive about "contributing to localized versions of
Wine".

"If you're willing to register for work on a certain language, then please
sign up with us!"

OK... How?
However, I (hopefully) post my work here.
I wrote a WINE-xx/dlls/shell32/shell32_xx.rc in Esperanto and I updated the
italian one.
