sorting question
...om sorting before and it appears that -- in terms of a user-defined order -- it can only be done either by defining a custom class or using various tricks with "order" Just wondering if anyone has a clever way to order "vintages" of the form 2002, 2003H1, 2003H2, 2004, 2005Q1, 2005Q2, etc some have H1 or H2, some have Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4, some are just plain years. They should be sorted in the obvious order. I can think of doing something with s'trsplit' and 'order' but anyone have anything better? (I still wonder why sorting with a user-defined function isn't sup...

Routing for multiple uplinks/providers problem.
Been running this for quite a while and noticed that have intermittent problems getting out. Find that if I ping the same site from 2 computers it may work on one and fail on the other. Also was surprised that some time they are going out different interfaces at the same time. Seems to work all the time from the firewall. Running 2.6.10 kernel with the multipath routing patches on a debian

Thank you in advance! #block 1 time.val <- as.factor(c ("2004Q1","2004Q2","2004Q3","2004Q4","2005Q1","2005Q2")) inc <- c(0.9903797, 1.3741467, 0.9938702, 0.4252443, 0.7700158, 1.1770313) # returns nice x-axis, but black points plot(time.val, inc, type="b", col="red") #block 2 time2 <- ifelse (substr(time.val,5,6) == "Q1", as.Date(paste("1/1/",subs...

tc actions and accounting
...o suggest that the actions happen at the time of PREROUTING/POSTROUTING in netfilter, so that would not work for me. As an alternative, I searched for a tc equivalent of ipt_ACCOUNT, but I found nothing. My previous attempt to solve a similar problem is here: http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2005q2/016271.html Regards, Carl-Daniel

urgent question about tcng!
Hello List, I''m new to QoS/tcng/HTB and friends, so please forgive me if my question might be silly... After having read lots of HowTo documents I''m totally confused... The Challenge: ============== I''ll have to deploy several "mirror" download servers (Linux) which must be able to handle a huge number of HTTP download requests (about 10k to 20k unicast

Use of qcdisc+htb
Hi folks. This message may be a bit verbose and not as techie as the ones I''ve seen in this list, but describing the scenario will save a lot of messages. Scenario: A building with 17 floors, each floor with 24 offices (totals 408 offices) connected to the backbone through a border switch (1 vlan for each office). The offices can lease bandwidth of 64k, 128k, 256k, 512k, 1M and 2Mbps,
