HTB and ARP
Hi, I discover recently that the arp traffic is managed like any other flow. So you get hang after a moment if you don''t use a default class. Is the any means to avoid this ? Not to have a default class is a way to filter traffic ... One would be to managed to class ARP request with tc but I don''t know if it is possible. Thanks in advance, -- Éric Leblond courriel :

HTB and TC on MAC addresses
Hi I''ve searched the archive for a solution where I want to limit/shape WLAN users. I only know''s their MAC, because they get their IP from dhcp. > Why not, just use negative offsets with U32 to access >the 14-byte eth frame header before the IP header: > >Decimal Ofs Description >----------------------------------- >-14: DST MAC, 6 bytes >-8: SRC MAC, 6

Syntax for u32 match of src mac at offset -8
Hello All, I''ve been trying to figure out how to do bandwidth limiting by mac address. There are several posts on this subject, but nothing concrete. My question concerns the proper tc filter syntax to do a u32 match at a negative offset of -8 that should based on what I''ve read be the source mac address. I''ve been plating around with it, but no success yet. Any

sorting question
I've asked about custom sorting before and it appears that -- in terms of a user-defined order -- it can only be done either by defining a custom class or using various tricks with "order" Just wondering if anyone has a clever way to order "vintages" of the form 2002, 2003H1, 2003H2, 2004, 2005Q1, 2005Q2, etc some have H1 or H2, some have Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4, some are just plain

I have server with one connection to internal network and 3 to ISPs: __________ | eth1|---- ISP1 | | internal--|eth0 eth2|---- ISP2 net | | (~300 | eth3|---- ISP3 hosts

ipsec for linux 2.4 eventually made easy?!
hi there, I just wanted to share a recent discovery I did on how to setup a secure VPN implementation for linux 2.4.x (I''m using 2.4.20 but it should be working, as far as documentation states, for > 2.4.18) without using FreeS/WAN. The tool (ipsec_tunnel: http://ringstrom.mine.nu/ipsec_tunnel/, by Tobias Ringström) is a kernel module based on ipip and ip_gre. It uses CyptoAPI to
