I'm new to wine, so I'm kind of stumbling around in the dark trying to make heads or tails of the documentation. I'm trying to get a working installation of wine and I'm having some troubles. I've tried downloading the source and using the wineinstall script and that has stopped at several different spots with errors that I don't understand, the last one was Error 2, this

I get this error everytime I try and play Diablo 2: LOD (installed as per http://www.latte.ca/D2LOD/ ). I installed the backport of wine for Debian from here: http://apt.bxlug.be/backport-from-sid-to-woody/ The version is 20030618 The error is: err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit /dev/mixer: not found err:wave:OSS_WaveInInit /dev/mixer: not found So I get no sound :/ I know that xmms uses /dev/dsp when I use the OSS output plug-in, maybe that can help someone help me. I had a working Samba 3.0beta1 as ADS member of a W2003 server. My w2000 client could log in to the W2003 server and use services on Samba (home directory). Winbind is working. So I tried to re-do all my work again. And suddenly the w2k can use any services on Samba anymore.
