this is really the wrong list for this, so i have CC'ed the samba
mailing list, please reply there.
You say you started with Win 2003, but was the domain initially
provisioned on 2000k ? or does it have the 2000k dns ?

indexing performance
I've some trouble with my indexer, which builds on simpleindex.cc. The problem
is that indexing process becomes very slow after we indexed 2000k docs (though
the indexer works quite well with first 2000k docs). It took almost three
weeks to index 8 million docs. However, we need to index about 20 million
docs. I have to stop the indexer due to its performance.
I think my question is similar to Jim Lynch's on Sept 1, 2004 and RACHEL...

You have the 2000K dns, there appears to be nothing in '
CN=MicrosoftDNS,DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=omtn,DC=de'

New setup advice...
Greetings All,
SuSE 9.1 (64 bit) attempting to set up Wine with an existing Windows 2000K drive. The drive is mounted as vfat on /windows/C, but there are tons of messages about not finding things in "C:\Windows". Do I need to pick through and edit everything (e.g. windows -> winnt) of is there an easier way to do this ?
Is there a setup guide for this type of thing ?

Memory management
Dear all,
I don't get it:
First of all, the help doesn't say what are the memory limits of
R. Say, what's the max heap size for instance ????
Secondly, I invoke R with the following commands each time:
rgui --vsize 30M --nsize 1000K
rgui --vsize 30M --nsize 2000K
rgui --vsize 30M --nsize 3000K
rgui --vsize 30M --nsize 4000K
I try to open a matrix 8000x8000 by issuing
x<-matrix(nrow=8000,ncol=8000)
I always get the following message:
Error: heap memory (20480 Kb) exhausted [needed 250000 Kb more]
It's always 250000 Kb less. Although gc() report...

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
All of our Kafka clusters are fairly write-heavy. The cluster in question is our second-heaviest ? we haven?t yet upgraded the heaviest, due to the issues we?ve been experiencing in this one.
Here is an iostat example from a host within the same cluster, but without the RAID check running:
[root at r2k1 ~] # iostat -xdmc 1 10
Linux 3.10.0-327.13.1.el7.x86_64 (r2k1) 05/27/16 _x86_64_ (32 CPU)

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
I did some additional testing - I stopped Kafka on the host, and kicked off a disk check, and it ran at the expected speed overnight. I started kafka this morning, and the raid check's speed immediately dropped down to ~2000K/Sec.
I then enabled the write-back cache on the drives (hdparm -W1 /dev/sd*). The raid check is now running between 100000K/Sec and 200000K/Sec, and has been for several hours (it fluctuates, but seems to stay within that range). Write-back cache is NOT enabled for the drives on the hosts we haven...
