bad performance on 2.4.23
hi,
- big and ugly mail. If you don't like them, delete it now :-) -
I have collected and classified some information of:
http://home.earthlink.net/~rwhron/kernel/bigbox.html
And I observed that ext3 performance is worse than previous
kernels(2.4.19...). -ac and -aa are here only as reference.
Complete information is in the upper URL.

LineJack + Asterisk HELP!
Hello,
I have ISA card LineJack. I could not find any information
if this card can work as fxo with Asterisk. If it can work,
can somebody point me how to install it on my Asterisk box.
Or maybe there is some documentation about it how to install
LineJack.
I will be very thankful for any help.

2.4.20, 2.4.21-pre2 and 2.4.20-ac2
Greetings,
I have just tested Syslinux 1.75 and Syslinux 2.00 on a floppy disk that
worked fine with Kernel 2.4.19 on a 1.44Mb floppy disk (the kernel about
1.1Mb in size). I decided to update the Kernel to the new 2.4.20 (as well
as 2.4.21-pre2 and 2.4.20-ac2) which I tested to work fine when booting
from the HDD using Lilo, but when I took my original disk that used 2.4.19
and replaced the

modprobe ztdummy failed
Hello-
I've been trying to scour both * and linux user group
archives for a solution to this particular problem, but I am
just plan stuck. I got the latest zaptel sources from cvs,
uncommented ztdummy.o in Makefile, ran make; make install
then, did depmod -a. All is well up until now.
When i do modprobe ztdummy, i get this error:

data corrupting bug in 2.4.20 ext3, data=journal
In 2.4.20-pre5 an optimisation was made to the ext3 fsync function
which can very easily cause file data corruption at unmount time. This
was first reported by Nick Piggin on November 29th (one day after 2.4.20 was
released, and three months after the bug was merged. Unfortunate timing)
This only affects filesystems which were mounted with the `data=journal'
option. Or files which are

Need help configuring TE100P and 3 X100P clone with MD3200 chipset
I can either get the TE100P working or the 3 X100P clones working, but
never both. I have the TE100P connected to a channel bank, and X100P
clones to lines from the phone company.
This is my zaptel.conf

fxols=25-27

I then do

[patch 2.4] Fix ext3 scheduling storm and lockup
This patch fixes an inefficiency and potential system lockup in the 2.4
kernel's ext3 filesystem. The problem has been present since 2.4.20-pre5.
This patch is applicable to 2.4.20. A copy is at
http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/patches/2.4/2.4.20/ext3-scheduling-storm.patch
Anyone who is using tasks which have realtime scheduling policy on ext3
systems should apply this change.

OOPS on 2.4.20-ac2
Hi,
I got the OOPS below on my laptop running vanilla 2.4.20-ac2; I had to
copy it byhand so it may not be 100% accurate. It hasn't happened
again, and this is the first problem I've had with this kernel (or any
other kernel, for that matter.) Anyway, I'm not sure, if a) this is
actually an ext3 problem, b) OOPS reports of 2.4.20-ac2 are of any
interest, so I won't bother with

ip rule nat
when doing somehitng like
ip rule add fwmark 3 nat 200.42.75.183 table ppp0 prio 1
(the idea is that packets that match the fwmark 3 change their source
address to 200.42.75.183)..it first apply the nat and then routes to
table ppp0 right?
in such case the, nat, why may be nat not being applyed?
cause it doesnt work at all..it goes to that interface but does not nat
the src address of the package.

2.4.20 kernel patch for ext3
Hi everyone, I need a 2.4.20 kernel patch for ext3 file system. It's
corrupting our data.
I did some google, and all pages led to this page
http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/
Where all the link to the patches I need are broken.
Anyone can help me get these patches? OR
I'm running 2.4.20 kernel right now, if I just do the kernel upgrade,
do I still need to patch for ext3?

Performance difference with HTB patch in 2.4.14 and without patch in 2.4.20
Hi,
I am using linux 2.4.14 box for my bandwidth management.I patched the kernel for HTB support.I think HTB comes by default with 2.4.20.My doubt is
"Is there any performance difference between patched kernel i.e. 2.4.14 and unpatched kernel 2.4.20 with respect to bandwidth management ?"
Thanks in advance,
Aravind.

Hi everyone. I am running Gentoo on my server and samba 2.2.8a. Recently
I changed kernel version from linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r10 to
linux-2.4.20-wolk4.0s. And now I have performance issue with samba. Ok
many of you will probably say that move to vanilla sources...well I ried
it too and it didn't work. I have 100mb LAN and two computers (linux +

Hi,
When I use a kernel v.2.4.20 the pxe boot loads the pxefiles, kernel and
then stops asking for files from the server and complains about a

Timing source on SMP system
I need a timing device for the DL360G2 for conferencing and meetme. For
a timing device I have 2 X100P cards but neither will work in my
DL360G2. The system will not even boot with either card in the system.
Other PCI cards seems to work fine. I called Digium support and was told
that there must be a conflict between the card and my Compaq DL360G2.
I then moved on to ztdummy. I'm sure the
