Unable to join ADS domain
I've installed Samba 3.0.2 (from the source) on a SuSE
8.2 system with MIT Kerberos 1.3.1 (I uninstalled the
Heimdal code) and the OpenLDAP 2.1.27 development
libraries installed on it. I want to make this system
a domain member of a Win2K native-mode ADS domain but
can't get "net ads join" to work. I've run "kinit

samba3-ldap and "unix password sync"
hi,
in the beginning i want to say you that i have a
working samba-ldap PDC (samba 3.0.2a, openldap 2.1.27,
redhat linux 9, why redhat ? because slackware don't
use pam and i didn't find a way to make samba-ldap work
without pam).
i want to make a synchronization between user
password from samba (this is mail password, too. i use
qmail-ldap) and user password from a database server

We're using samba-3.0.2rc2 with OpenLDAP-2.1.27,
cupsys-1.1.20final-cvs200403 and a Samsung printer. Printing was working
fine but yesterday all of a sudden it stopped working.
The error message on the windows machine was:
"A StartDocPrinter call was not issued".
On viewing samba logs for the machine, we got following error:

Hi,
I had successfully set up dovecot-1.0-test62 + ldap pass/user db, but
now I'm encoutering a SIGSEV problem with a similar set up of a brand
new dovecot-1.0-test65 installation.
The auth process is killed by a SIGSEV as reported in the error log file :

Samba-LDAP TLS problems with inofficial Debian OpenLDAP 2.2 packages
Dear Torsten, dear samba list reader
Three days ago I switched our domain from a NT 4 domaincontroller to
Samba-OpenLDAP, controlled by a Debian Sarge system. I installed the
following inofficial Debian OpenLDAP 2.2 packages (I know these are not
supported, but TLS with OpenSSL is essential to us...):
Package: slapd
Version: 2.2.20-1.hrz.1
Package: libldap2.2
Version: 2.2.20-1.hrz.1

XEN 3.1: critical bug: vif init failure after creating 15-17 VMs (XENBUS: Timeout connecting to device: device/vif)
We have found a critical problem with the XEN 3.1 release (for those who are running 15-20 VMs on a single server). We are using the official XEN 3.1 release on a rackable server (Dual-Core AMD Opteron, 8GB RAM).
The problem we are seeing is that intermittently vifs fail to work properly in VMs after we create around 15-17 VMs on our server (all running at the same time, created one by

3.0.4 ACPI support and Opteron 2210 ?
Hello,
I originally posted this to xen-users, but someone suggested I post it here.
I am having ACPI problems on a PenguinComputing Altus1600 system.
It has 2x dual core Opteron 2210 processors.
The system boots with a standard Debian or Ubuntu SMP kernel, with ACPI
enabled. However the xen live cd, binary xen install, as well as my own custom
compile of xen 3.0.4 from source will not boot.
