SYSLINUX 2.05 released
Greetings,
I have released SYSLINUX 2.05. It is almost identical to 2.05-pre4.
I'm about to leave for a trip, so if there are any issues please let me
know, but don't expect a response any time soon.

dint solve my problem !!! maybe there r still some bugs remaining. !!

Bug in 2.05 .bss chain loader (works in 1.40).
I love syslinux, and loath to cry bug, but I think
this might qualify.
I found that using the chain loader in syslinux
version 2.05 on a FreeDOS (ver. 2.30.1) boot floppy
failed (locked after 'FreeDOS' is written to the
screen).
I tried other boot disks (dos 3.30, up to win98) with
similar results.
The good news is that version 1.40 (where it was
originally implemented) works great !!

smbmount case sensitivity problem
Hi-
I've got a weird case sensitivity problem. I've looked through past
messages but haven't been able to find a solution. This is an
environment using samba to mount shares from a Solaris machine onto a
Red Hat machine (originally done because of 16-bit UID limitations in
Red Hat 6.x).
Now I've upgraded to Red Hat 7.2 (samba 2.2.1a) and the share from the
Solaris machine

syslinux-2.05 boot floppy failures, size related?
I have occasional problems booting kernel boot floppies
made with syslinux-2.04/2.05. The symptom is that syslinux
loads an initial part of the kernel image and then halts with
Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue.
Observations:
1. It's not a media problem. I've switched floppies and
reformatted them, but the failure persists.
2. It's not a BIOS problem.

syslinux 2.05-pre1
I installed syslinux-2.05-pre1 this morning and modified my server program
to set up pxelinux.cfg files with the MAC address in the file name. I have
run several tests with multiple clients and I haven't found a problem.
Thanks very much for answering my "wibni" before I even got around to
asking out loud.

isolinux problem report
I have tried to use isolinux 2.05, and I am running into a problem where it
will not boot. I have previously used version 1.66, and the older version
works just fine. Changing nothing except dropping the new version in does
not work.
Below is all of the relevant info, I believe. This occurs on multiple
machines with different BIOS. I am currently in process of doing a binary
search to find the

Ongoing unhappiness with NA and factor behavior of distributed lm/predict.lm
Hi all,
I''m still not quite happy with the NA and factor handling of lm and predict.lm in R1.6.1 (forcing me to use my
not very skillfully crafted patches).
Here is the problem 1:

SYSLINUX 2.05-pre1 released
Okay, I have finally become convinced that hardware address based config
files should be a standard feature in PXELINUX, so I have added it. I
am a bit worried that it might not work with all DHCP servers (since I'm
trying to do this in a hardware-independent manner), so I'd appreciate
feedback.
This adds one more name to the list of names queried for the config
file, before the IP-based

SYSLINUX 2.05-pre2 released
Hi all,
This prerelase should hopefully fix the "non-IP-numbered config file
causes crash" problem, as well as (I hope to God) clean up the Perl
binary issues.

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and syslinux 2.04
Hi all!
We use pxelinux for booting a diskless Linux from whitch we install all
our systems.
But we discovered some Problems:
- With v1.75 the Kernel is fetched from the TFTP-Server with no problem,
but it gets not started on Broadcom NetXtreme with newer PXE-Bioses
- With v2.04, pxelinux even seems not to be able to fetch the kernel
from the TFTP-Server. This affects also Intel's

OpenOffice 641c and Wine
Hello All,
I am new to using wine on my Linux redhat 7.2 so please forgive the
dumb questions, ok.
I have been able to run a few of my Windows Applications from wine as
a test, but ran into problems when I wanted to try a test and install
OpenOffice 641c.
I am getting messages like:

problem with heatmap.2 in package gplots generating non-finite breaks
I have written a wrapper for heatmap.2 called
heatmap.w.row.and.col.clust which auto-generates breaks using
breaks<-round((c(seq(from=(-20 * stddev), to=(20 * stddev))))/20,
digits = 2) #(stddev in this case = 2.5)
This has always worked well in the past but now I am getting an error
that non-finite breaks are being generated. Drilling down, it seems
that my wrapper is generating finite

samba 2.05 with RH6.1 and Win98
Hello,
I had samba working fine with RH6.0
but now I cannot get it to work...
I cannot even see the SAMBA machine
in my network neighbor hood.
TCP/IP connectivity is fine...
Has something changed in this version??
Why does the smb.conf now have 'server string'
instead of 'netbios name'???
I have attached smb.conf and smb
thanks
Ken
