Help with Dialplan Rules Please!
...xplain how the dialplan rules work? I'm having a hard time getting it. I know that to dial out you need a 9 and to ignore that 9 once your out... requires a switch of sorts that tells asterisk to ignore the first digit on the left. In freePBX it's this: 9|NXXXXXX For Long distance it is 9|1NXXNXXXXXX Here is my problem using Free PBX: I want to be able to dial long distance and local at will while using free PBX to set it up. Right now we have 1 line for testing purposes and soon to be expanded into 2. When the rules are arranged like this in FreePBX 9|1NXXNXXXXXX 9|NXXXXXX the long distanc...

Calling voicemail from external phone.
Hey. How would I set up my dialplan if a user wants to call its voicemail from an external phone? I'm thinking of getting the user to enter its mailbox number. Something like this: 1. User calls the dedicated voicemail number. 2. Phone prompts for mailbox number. 3. Voicemail(${mailboxnr}@context) Thanks.

Zaptel dialing too fast?
I have a situation when I dial out my Zaptel I am getting a recording that I need to add a 1 or a 0 and the area code with this number. I have tried appending this and the number going out the zap is 1NXXNXXXXXX so it is going out with 1 and the area code. Someone has suggested that maybe the zaptel is dialing too fast. My question is how can I add a pause before dialing to test this out. I am using freePBX 2.1.0, is there a way to do this in there or will this be a manual hack. Here is the tail of...

Rewriting numbers while processing dial plan?
Hi list, I am still a newbie and struggling with tweaking the dial plan to my requirements. I have tried googling for this specific problem, and apologies if I have overlooked the obvious answer already. If you could please be so kind as to point me in the right direction, that would be most appreciated. What I am trying to do, is get rid of the initial "+" in phone numbers coming in

Dial String Questions
Hi all- My TDM long distance is provided by MCI. We use account codes where MCI sends a challenge tone after receiving 1NXXNXXXXXX. Anyone have any suggestions of how to accomplish this? I can't get the soft phones to send the DTMF (the other digits go down the d-channel of our PRI). I also have not bee able to get the dial or the outgoing queue command to work. Anyone run into this? Asterisk is stripping my area code
...ension, extension to extension calling works but I'm still missing a few pieces. The most annoying one is that apparently asterisk is stripping the area code from the number I'm dialing but I can't figure out how to stop it. I have in my outbound route under "Dialing rules": 1NXXNXXXXXX NXXNXXXXXX We are required to dial all 10 numbers since there are 3 area codes in Atlanta now. Using freePBX admin. I think asterisk@home is version 2.7. One less than the most recent, in any case. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Jim. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML...

Spoofing CallerID on Demain
...have an outgoing line that allows me to set my caller id. I want to be able to change the caller id when ever I place a call using this line. I would like my user to press 7, then be prompted for their 10 digit caller id number, then be prompted for the number they would like to call in the form 1NXXNXXXXXX. How can I accomplish this??? Right now I am using this script that users have to dial _71NXXNXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX , where the first 12 digits are the number to be called and the last 10 are the caller id. My dialplan: exten => _71NXXNXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,1,SetCallerID(${EXTEN:12}) exten => _71NX...

modifying a dialed exension before dialplan processing
I have a phone (a panasonic globalrange phone) which always sends a fully qualified phone number. That is, for a local Canadian number, even if I key in 6135551212 it actually sends to asterisk 01116135551212. This means of course, along with "normal" phones I end up having twice as many extensions for outdialed numbers. Is there any way I could canonicalize this down to the more

Unable to make outbound calls
...her etc work fine. When i try to make an external call i am getting message "All routes are busy". In the asterisk console i am seeing "Everyone is busy/congested at this time". In AMP - Outbound dialing i hv configured a route which i call 'local'. The dial pattern is 1NXXNXXXXXX NXXNXXXXXX NXXXXXX and using trunk ZAP/g1. Any idea why i am unable to make outbound call. thanks for your help. -B __________________________________ Discover Yahoo! Have fun online with music videos, cool games, IM and more. Dial cmd help
...,Dial(SIP/1${ARG1}@sip_peer,60,T) Reason for adding a "1" is all the others in the macro don't want the "1" so this was easiest at the time. Now I need to send NA long distance through this macro. All the other dial cmds will just work, but this one is going to try to dial 11NXXNXXXXXX instead of 1NXXNXXXXXX. Is there some way to simply add some logic above it such that if the EXTEN coming in starts with a "1", remove it so I don't have to hack this extensions.conf all to heck? Thanks! jlc

want to set a var in sip.conf
i have extensions in locations across a number of telco area codes. when someone in seattle picks up and dials 91234567, it would be nice to transform it to 92061234567. i would prefer not to have an extension context per area code. it would be cool to be able to set a variable in the sip.conf bit for each phone with it's geographic default area code. or other folk may have a better hack.

country code list
...sive list (that is reasonably maintained) that lists country codes, landline numbers, mobile numbers, etc. The particular requirement is for a dialplan to know what is going to be charged to whom. For example, mobile and landline rates are the same in the US the US has a unified numbering plan of 1NXXNXXXXXX, while the UK has: 441xxx geographic based landline 442xxx geographic based landline 443xx reserved 444xx reserved 445xx corp and voip 446xx reserved 447xx pagers, personal etc 448xx national rate, local rate, freephone, some mobile, blah 449xx premium services Although I dont see something that s...

When I dial a outside number, it works fine, but when another employee trys to dial out while I am on a line, it will not go. I have a outgoing route setup in the AMP interface. Dial Pattern: 1NXXNXXXXXX NXXNXXXXXX NXXXXXX Trunk Sequence: ZAP/3 ZAP/2 ZAP/1 Any ideas why when someone is on ZAP/3 and someone else trys to call out, it does not pick the next available PSTN?
