Subject: [Wine]Active X Component Can't create object error while
running vb application
Hello,
I am using Red Hat Linux 9. I am trying to run Visual Basic application
called tracker.exe. For that, I have firstly installed
wine-20040615-1fc1winehq rpm. Then when I give the command
#wine Tracker.exe it gives the following error:
"Unable to access the following configuration file. Error #429
Description: ActiveX Component can't create objet"
Can you please suggest the solution for this problem?

Rhapsody Streaming Music Service with Wine on Fedora
This program (www.listen.com) requires IE5+ and windows media player. I
have tried installing those on a fake windows drive with version=win98
(quite a task for IE6 by itself), but when I try to install Windows
media player 9, it tells me I already have it installed, and IE6 works
slowly and gives lots of error messages.
I have the program working on my WinXP partition, so I deleted the

failed to create the process heap
Hey everybody, I hope I'm just missing something obvious, but wine dies
with this error on startup:
wine: failed to create the process heap
I'm using a fedora core 1 system with a 2.6 kernel, wine was installed
with the fc1 rpm "wine-20040213-1fc1winehq." The only hint google was
able to give was a posting that claimed this error should happen on every
2.6 kernel because of the "pax" patches, which I gather is the 2.6
exec-shield feature. I can't for the life of me find any kernel option to
try turning it off though.

/sbin/ldconfig: /usr/lib/ is not a symbolic link on fedora 1
I am tring to install wine-20040213-1fc1winehq.i386.rpm into fedora 1 on a
celeron 500. When I install it it gives an error:
/sbin/ldconfig: /usr/lib/ is not a symbolic link
It still installs something and when I try to run a windows app I get this

yes used rpm- 20040914-1fc1winehq... i do the rpm -ivh
when i goto install say a windows exe i type wine " theprogram exe" and it goes thur a what seems to be a instlal of fonts then stops and redhat crashes yes it crashes.. locks rite up on me ...i have no clue what else to do i try a rpm -e program name and nuffin the...

permissions, kernel-2.6.8, and wine-20040813
Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded to kernel 2.6.8 on my Fedora Core 2 system. This
caused a problem with the version of wine I'd been using (20040505),
so I upgraded wine to the current version (20040813).
The remaining problem is as follows:
I'm calling wine like this:
wine start.exe vcbuild.bat
and vcbuild.bat contains the following:
set QMAKESPEC=win32-msvc.net
