Help for 5000 clients server + 50 sources
Hi, i need a server for 5000 clients and 50 sources at the same time
Can you help me to choose the right server?
I was thinking this one
PowerEdge R710
n.2 x Intel Xeon E5502 (1,86GHz, cache 4MB, 4,86 GT/s QPI)
2GB Memory for 1CPU (2x1GB Single Rank UDIMMs) 1066MHz 2 X 146GB SAS
15.000rpm 3,5" hd hot-plug PERC 6/i RAID controller 256MB PCIe 2x4
1 gbit network card
Thanks

are using in production environments, preferably with CentOS 4, with more than
4GB of memory per CPU.
I know there are lots of mobos out there that can do this, but I'm looking for
what folks really have running. Call me paranoid.
The target is SATA + n*GigE + 1CPU + 8GB memory, and I can consider other
configurations. The incumbent system is a Xeon 8GB system running i686 CentOS
4.3 (what else?), with light CPU loading and very heavy IO loading (WD raptors
are our friends).
Folks with deep(er) knowledge of x86_64 architecture, I'd also be interested...

Jitsi Meet on CentOS 7 ?
...tos 7.7.
I wrote it while testing it so this WORKS and I am currently using it for
fun with the kids.
I do have the server currently running but blocked by my firewall. I am
willing to allow a few of the people such a Kovacs and others to connect to
my Jitsi server to test usability. But this is a 1CPU/2GBRAM VM in vultr.com
so we cannot expect premium video quality and maybe no more than 10 people
at the same time.
Do note that in order to provide access, I need an IP and will open the
server to connect from that IP.
My Wordpress template is not the best so sorry for the formatting. I Will

It seems the test result is connected with the cpu type and cpu number.
AMD environment passed this test case, but Intel environment failed with

If anyone is running an environment similar to this that can provide help I would really appreciate this. I'm having a hard time making this decision and would love to hear anybody's experience in a real time environment....

virtualization on the desktop a myth, or a reality?
...would be on raw hardware. But, using the
interface is painfully slow. I opened up Firefox and browsed the web a
bit. The mouse cursor lagged a bit and whenever I loaded a slow /
large website, it seemed asif the whole VM lagged behind.
The Virtual Machine didn't use much resources. I allocated 1CPU core &
512MB RAM to it
Yes, I know that I could have used KVM, VMWare or VirtualBox, but I
wanted to use what's included already. Cause, let's face it, many
people (even though they're technically advanced users) don't know
virtualization.
And, granted, when we install Virtual...

KVM + virsh nodeinfo + CentOS 6.3
Hi,
Please let me know in case I am posting my question to the wrong forum.
I apologize if that is the case!
Here is my question:
We run CentOS 6.3 on a server with dual Xeon CPU's. Our "dual blade"
server uses this motherboard:
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X9DRT-HF.cfm
We have two of these CPUs installed and working:
